Project: Standard Custom Case

Those are all templates dude, not the real hardware. I use old shit hardware till I decide on the specs. I put most stuff in last.

Cut out one of the sides quick. I'm not sure whether I should leave it as is or cover the screws in some way. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

The control panel on front might look a bit like this but there's a lot of work to go on this one. I want to round the edges, make a transparency with some labels, and finally paint it.

Good thing about making your own case, you choose what you want, where you want it, and how you want it. AKA fan placement.

Qtip42, I think this case is beautiful, continue the excellent work.

I didn't get much accomplished tonight. I basically just slapped the other side on and then started straightening my lines up. Once I finish the handle on top and the front control panel, I'll be ready to paint this thing and be done. Then I can put more of my time into the Batman case.

The paint job should be started this weekend hopefully. Just a quick FYI.

looks slick, is that power button from a coolermaster?

i really like it, great metal-work btw

with 1/8" aluminum, you may be able to put in countersunk screws. would make it look a little cleaner.

sides are 1/16" I know it'd look better. Right now I'm not too sure if I want to mess with it though. There's no point to building this case. I just want it done and out of the way.

Wow, really nice and clean, wish i had a metal shop sumwher ehere, believe the only two places i could get it here is the steel mill (though thats ony steel) and possibly home hardware, everything else is out of town :(

wanting to make room for the batman case eh?

Well as much as I do like to work on cases, I hate having my brain in 9 places at once. This will make it down to 8 if I finish it up. There's probably like one full day of work left on it.

Did this case ever get finished up, or is it still on the shelf somewhere?

it's the new shop computer :D was supposed to get painted but I never got around to it :D I'll get new pics posted whenever I can get to it.

Didn't do much to this case since the batman case started, I worked on it a little today (it's got hardware inside and functions but the buttons aren't installed and it never got painted. Can't paint anything till the booth is finished so it will sit like this for a little while. It has some primer on it now but it hasn't even been sanded down yet.

What will that IO panel to look like once it's done?

I think the rear i/o panel was posted on the first page of this thread. The front looks the same as the pic at the top of this page except I put a green acrylic ring around the power button.

Probably should add some green lights to this but I dont have time right now to do detailed stuff on it.
