Project: Skunkmunkey Stacker

still working on my front panel, got a slot loading plextor DVD that needs a hole cut for it
but im busy encoding some dvd videos so cant remove it yet.

What ive been thinking is that im gonna create a seperate compartment at the bottom of my case and mount the 3 x 120mm rad at the bottom sucking cool air in. Il then attatch 2 x 80mm fans (silent ones of course) to exhaust the warm air from the rad out the back as the stacker comes with a handy backplate which has the mounts already cut.

Can anyone see any problems with this before i go hacking my plexi/case up? BTW I will be using the feet from my Sony AMP (2" high) to support the case so airflow under the case is not an issue.

lofl... maybe she'll demand a proper burial rather than flaming into the air as cinders like that last thing that died, well, the other part. Have you told her what you want to do with it? If not, tell her, if so, show her who's boss by.... not taking out the garbage!

i just bought 2 athlon 64 X2s 3800 for £44 each form ebuyer.co.uk. Someone is gonna lose their job for that. will post you a screen shot ttaken from their website tomorrow. Was just by chance i happened to be looking at dual core cpus. They had changed it within 20 minutes of me placing my order but not before i ordered 10 for my company :)

I came up with a cool idea for your gpu (when you find it). You should mount it on the front panel and use it as the power switch. People will think its just a gpu mounted on the front of a case, BUT NO, its a power switch!
 
Hi, Guys, i have officially started work on this project again, ive had a brainwave, while watching my Dr Dre Up in Smoke Tour dvd i decided to model my case on the Low Rider they use on stage, Im loving the purple and chrome mix! have also decided to have my window etched with a pic of snoop dogg, so this is gunna be a pimped case, quite literally....

Dude, that was a pretty mad purple dude. Mad as in cool, sick, etc. Almost a color I could think of having in my room, somewhere. Silk cheets perhaps. =D

I think I am going to have to own Canadian Tire's face for not offering that product. I think I can finally continue painting my Super Lanboy blue now.

wooohoo, just got the 512mb XFX 7800 GTX gunna clock that ram to 1.8gh. Am so poor now =[ gunna have to get this done soon, all my parts keep goin out of date.

Well after leveling my warlock to 60 (world of warcraft) and getting on with molten core ive finally got around to doin some more work on my stacker, decided to go with a smoked round window which im gonna etch (still deciding on the design). I just used the circle cut for the orginal mesh, this was kinda sunk into the door panel so with the help of some filler i moulded the window into the case.

heres the side window all sanded down and ready to be etched, im gonna etch my pattern then rub down to give frosted effect, should look pretty cool when finished. Damn SUpload.com have deleted my pics again
 
Been working hard on my front panel, this is now sanded and ready for the slots for my fingerprint reader and dvd-rw drive.

*have now changed design and old pics host deleted my pictures*
 
Ive also cut the hole for my radiator to be mounted, in the bottom of the case drawing air in, there will be 2 x 120mm fans to extract air through the vent at the top of the case. Working on the theory that heat rises this seems to be the most sensible option with regards to efficient cooling. (excuse the dusty noisblocker fans, been in my case with no side on for 3 months)

Well, ive decided to paint the case myself, decided it was a bit of a cop out to have it painted for me. But here i ran into a problem, where can i buy paints from in the UK. Ideally im looking for a stockist that supplies Duplicolor or House of Kolor spray cans, but tbh any good quality purple pearl/kandy paint will be fine. Please someone post some links for me, im stuck till i can find a good supplier for paint, cheapest quote i could get for shipping from USA was $170....... which is more than the paint costs.

Oh and ive started work on the inside of my case, im now waiting for a lift to get some plywood from my local DIY shop. Im gonna be making some panels to fit iside which im gonna cover in white leather. To give it that PIMPED feel.....
 
Ok.. im finally back on track with my project after finding out im gonna be a dad again. Not had much time recently as my little girl has now learnt to walk.... shes definately a handfull now.

Anyway i have got my primer and have ordered some white vinyl leather so i can upholster the inside of my case. Expect an update in next few days

Ok... have some pics to post soon but wanted to make some decent progress b4 an update. I now have some real cream leather (as used in aston martins/bentlys) so im in the process of working out how to upholster the inside of my case. Im thinking of using ply wood to box off the main compartment and stapling the leather to the ply.

Anyway i need some help... im now choosing a new mobo/cpu/ram for my pc. Im goin for some geil pc 6400 ram and a core duo e6600 cpu but im stuck on which mobo to choose. i want to be able to get some decent overclocks but i cant wait for and nforce 590 as my pc is dying atm and keeps bluescreening on me. Any advice would be really helpful.

I will also need to change my cpu water block, anyone have any idea which one to go for? pref either a chrome finish or lucite top.
 
Just got a great idea combining the GPU case logo and someone's suggestion to use it as a power button.

Place a square piece of acrylic, sitting about a 1/4" above the case. Insert chip in a recessed 'pit' in said acrylic. Fog the outside edges of the acrylic, but leave the inside edged polished. That way, the LEDs will shine bright onto the top of the chip and less on the outside of the square.

From there, spring-load the acrylic piece as to be used like a power button. That way, when the power is loaded, the acrylic will be lit up. You could even attach your HDD light to the LED and the little acrylic outline would blink a little. :)

Ok... i finally went with the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe WiFi i975X, core 2 duo e6600, and 1gb Corsair XMS 2 pc 8500 ram.

not a bad photo for a phone cam... just got my new sony ericsson k800i :)

This is the front panel for my pc, still needs a lot of work atm... i gotta cut a slot for dvd and also put in a piece of silver mirror acrylic for the lcd too and then its gonna take some hard work to sand/fill all the lumps and bumps out.

also noticed that the grill is too far to the left, so im gunna extend the vents to the right slightly, as im gonna paint the whole thing anyway it should look even when im done.
