Project Planning Software

I'm looking for some project management/planning software that allows me to basically outline what I want to accomplish, create some sort of flow in how the application is going to work/navigate and possible track tasks.

I heard Microsoft Project was good, however; it hasn't been updated in over 4 years so I don't think that will work (not sure if you can even find it anymore). Plus I'm looking for a free/open source solution.

Any thoughts?

Hunh? Project 2003 shipped in 2003, and you can get it anywhere that software is sold.

I know. I found this out like an hour ago, lol. I could have sworn they stopped at Project 2000 but I just downloaded the project 2007 Beta 2. I don't like it very much though. It's very slow and uses an ugodly amount of ram. Maybe I'll give 2003 a try (though, I was hoping for a free/open source solution).

Thanks

You can't beat activeCollab for the price. Basecamp is far too simple for me to use it. But if you're willing to pay, try Copper Project.
