Couldn't think of anything for the projects name so I just named it after the movie that happened to be on my desk. lol. Well I've got a Gateway 500S case that will be running:

2.0ghz P4 CPU running at 2.5ghz on air
Intel D845GRG
1GB of SpecTek Value RAM
40GB Seagate HDD
Sony DVD-RW/CD-RW
BFG 5500 OC PCI
Sunbeam Fan Controller with misc. fans

The case is pretty big (full size). Here it is from the outside:

The plans are to cut out the rear 90mm fan hole and to cut another one so that there is enough air being pulled out the back of the case. Then on the front of the case I plan on putting a big 120mm fan with painted grille. This fan will go in the exact spot where that Gateway logo is now :D I think I'm going to have to remove the HDD rack on the inside of the case and relocate the HDD to the bay right above the floppy drive, so that the bottom of the case will be open to be cut. I'm going to have the front fan attached to the plastic of the case and not the metal.

Currently the case is very quiet when I turn the rear exhaust fan down via the Sunbeam and hopefully it will sound similarly with the new fans turned down. During gameplay I could care less about fan speed. The surround sound in the room makes it hard to hear anything else.

The case will eventually be completely repainted. Most likely all black by an automotive shop that has done the painting on my truck in the past. The case has a few scratches which it received while being stored in my closet so it'll need cleaned anyway.

I am also purchasing all new cabling for the inside of the case. So during the first few parts of this worklog the cabling is going to look really nasty lol, but it will be fixed eventually with all black cabling and sleeves on all the PSU cables. The fans are just crappy no-names for now but eventually they will be upgraded to silent fans of some sort, with the front one having a blue LED most likely. There wont be a window on this case for two reasons #1 Dont really want to go through the hassle of doing it on this case and #2 I plan on buying a Super Lanboy eventually and dont see the need for me to butcher this case.

Window would kind of ruin the look of the case, too much bling for this case. This looks like a slick quiet case. Sounds like a good mod, can't wait!

Well ran into a problem today with my mobo not fitting into this case by like 1/16th of an inch so I'm keeping the P4 Northwood in there. So I had to find a new home for my P4 Prescott today so didnt get to cut the fan vent. The way the case is built a window isnt possible. The entire inside door is a giant latch device for clamping into the case. I could do a window but id have to find a new method of having the case's side stay attached.
