Then don't f'ing read them...I am getting tired of you going into my threads and insulting me in some way and stirring up trouble...you should be disciplined by the mods or something...I hear/see nothing but complaints from you!!! Is it at least POSSIBLE that you can HELP someone answer his/her question WITHOUT saying something mean in the process???

I really don't want to argue, but this is only the second thread of yours that I've posted in, FYI. I am merely trying to show you that the answers to your last two questions are there in the threads themselves. And it makes you look bad when you ask an obvious question that is easy to answer just by reading the thread. But, I'm and adult, and I will be the one to hold out my hand and offer an apology if you are offended. There...no big deal.

Well you act like I do it ALL the time...I'm just pissed off at the numerous amount of turds that complain about someone posting an easy (for them) question and then NOT even bother answering it...they just flame away and that is not allowed according to the rules last I read them...I think that the mods are actually a bit to lenient on flamers...and it's not only in my thread...I've seen it oin ither ppls thread...

ANYWAYS...ummm...aww crap...now I forgot what I was gonna say relating to this threads topic

1) MacOS isnt shitty? for even the "power" the hardware has (not a hell of a lot) it runs like absolute crap. when I see 733 PIII's with 512 PC133 running windows faster than dual G5's with a gig run MacOS, I question things pretty greatly.

*sigh* Not this stereotypical Windows worshipper crap again... Look, all operating systems have their faults as do all computers. However, I find your comparison/opinion to be highly improbable and lacking in accuracy. First, a dual G5 has a shitload more processing power than a single P3 and this can easily be proven by putting the same OS (either a UNIX or LINUX distro) on both computers and running comparison tests. Second, I don't know who's fucked up install of OS X you were using on that G5 but I have found modern Macs to be just as good as, if not better than, most modern Windows-based PCs when it comes to doing some everyday tasks (web surfing, e-mail, word processing (be it with MS Office, Appleworks, or whatnot), Photoshop work, web page design, video editing, etc.). Third, when did I say that the Mac OS isn't shitty? I didn't, I just said that it was less shitty than Windows currently is and that if Apple were put in Microsoft's shoes their products would probably be equally shitty.

I'm guessing that you don't even own any modern Macs...but, anyway... On a daily basis, I usually find myself going back and forth between my many Macs and many PCs when trying to get things done because each operating system does some things better/worse than the other. So, depending on what I'm working on, in many cases I end up using both my Macs and PCs to each complete specific portions of the same task. No operating system is perfect and, as such, I find it best to keep an open mind and employ multiple operating systems so that I can take advantage of each OS's strengths rather than get bogged down by one OS's weaknesses.

2) one of the funniest things is mac people screaming that microsoft is a monopoly. the followers of a company that wont allow ANY competition, either the hardware or software sectors, have NO right to call a SOFTWARE COMPANY a monopoly when they worship the VERY DEFINITION of a monopoly

Okay, I don't recall stating that Apple (or Microsoft, for that matter) was or wasn't a monopoly. Personally, I don't really care either way so long as both companies continue to produce decent products. Also, for the record, there is always competition... The increasing popularity of UNIX and LINUX on the x86 and PowerPC platform serves as competition for both MS and Apple. Oh, and at one point there were several companies producing Mac clones but they, IMO, weren't quite as nice as the Macs produced by Apple (which is probably why it stopped...though, I have no doubt that Apple probably had a hand in putting things to a halt).

3) apple's marketshare has nothing to do with the quick migration to 64 bit, its exactly as you said before, its because theyre complete nazis about hardware, software, everything, that they can do stuff whenever THEY want on THEIR timeline and they dont have to wait for anyone.

Gee, thanks for misinterpreting my example and stating exactly what I did in more hostile terms... I was using their rather fast and somewhat seamless transition to 64-bit as an example of how their small market share (and a few other factors) allows Apple to make whatever changes they want and do so with relative ease when compared to Microsoft.

Anyway, I wish you luck on your project Metallica_Band and we're here for you if you need help/advice/whatever. :)

You guys are going to get this thread locked with your mac vs. windows "holy war." As a person who uses eMacs with OS X, and multiple Windows XP boxen, I can tell you I definitely prefer Windows. However, I haven't ever gotten a BSOD on an eMac, and the boot up time is much faster.

As stated earlier, both systems have their pros and cons... you just gotta weigh them out.

And, besides, Apple makes some damn fine looking equipment. Windows machines all remind me of a giant beige.. box.. thing. :p

Yes...it is...so let's stay on topic shall we??? Someone think of a on-topic question quick!!! I'm too busy playing with my new computer I got...it's an OLD Gateway P5-133!!!

made before you were born, I assume

Nope...it says it was manufactured 12-23-96...7 years ago....heeeey!!! You're not implying that I'm 7 yrs. old are you???:eek::eek:

OK...I am trying to figure out how to fit TWO mobo's (PC & Mac) in ONE case...I had a brilliant idea...but it come with a few new problems which I might be able to get around...here's my idea:

OK...So I am going to need an even BIGGER case than what I have now (look at the case in my sig)...I was thinking that I could get two mobo trays and mod them so they would fit right in the middle of the case...I could put the PC mobo one one side and put the Mac mobo on the other...I could then mod a new window on the right side of the case...that way when you look at one side it's the PC side and you look on the other side it's the Mac side...

BUT...If I do that then I will have to cut out the back side of the case and build me a whole new back cause of all the things I gotta plug into the mobo...what's that thing called??? I/O something??? Can't remember...

I have some more ideas in my head but I'll post them later...too much stuff to do to plan on this project

One more thing tho...suppose I DID create a PC/Mac Hybrid PC...how much attention would it bring if I brought it to LAN parties??? It'll be highly modded like modders do to their PC's (lights, switches, windwos, etc...)...I bet this will look ultra sweet when/if I get this finished

yea you need to think of the length of the component cards you will need to put in to the PC and MAC, I mean your case would need to be AT LEAST twice its current width , not to mention you would need to have 2 power supplys hooked up. And... well maybe you should ocntract someone to build you a costom case, assuming you can get the MAC stuff.

Yeah...FITTING the stuff in there is the biggest challenge..but I only have to worry about the width of the case...if I can find something wide enuff then I should be cool...I need a tall, wide case with at least 5-5.25" bays and 2-3.5" bays...this should be fun

Have you thought of picking up two cheap full tower/mid-tower cases and welding them together? Kinda like a home made YY cube case... but bigger... and a little less cube-like. You may run into a bit of a problem when it comes to mounting the Mac mobo on any kind of standard ATX mobo tray, because most (if not all) Mac mobos don't usually follow the ATX standard when it comes to dimensions and mounting holes (not to mention the I/O panel  ). Shouldn't be too hard though--a little drilling, some dremel action, a few standoffs, maybe some hot glue :D

Or, if you got a PowerMac G3 (blue & white) or a PowerMac G4... you could try removing the side door of the case which the motherboard sits on then mod and mount it to the inside of the PC case opposite the PC mobo. (You'd need a wide case for that, though... You may have to end up getting/making something that's double wide)

Eh, I'm sure you'll figure something out :)

-.- just use rackmount server cases. Small, stackable, easier on the headache of fabbing a case =x still gets looks at a lan party (just take them without the racks ;) )
