Project: My system renewal 2007

Hello everyone at [H]. Welcome to my build log!
I am really a newbie but I will do my best to keep you entertained.
I recently bought a case for real cheap and decided to use it for practice purposes before I work on my main systems. This is going be a long long thread.

Here is a picture of my old system /w vapochill. I really liked it except the monsterous noise.

After I am finished with this case, I am going to mod every case I have. My room is going to be filled with awesome. Don't worry, I will post it all here.
Please note that this is my FIRST EVER modding, I really am bad.

Here is the first fan I've ever sleeved:

It was really hard. Took me about 2 hours to learn how to use the tools.


Now let's go over the new systems specs:

System #1(Gaming Sys #1)
CPU: Intel QX6700
MB: Evga 680i AR -> need to replace /w A1.
MEM: 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC-8000
VIDEO: 2 x XFX 8800GTX SLI
HD: 1 x 150 Raptor X + 2 x 400GB Seagate SATAII
SOUND: X-FI Elite Pro
SPEAKER: Klipsch Cinema 6 -> Need a decoder for this.
MONITOR: WH 37w3 37'' 1080P LCD Monitor
POWER: PC P&C 1KW-SR
Case: Cooler Master 832

System #2 (Gaming Sys #2 = Friend's favorite)
CPU: Intel QX6700
MB: Asus Striker 680
MEM: 2GB Buffalo Firestix PC-8000
VIDEO: 1 x XFX 8800GTX
HD: 1 x 74GB Raptor
SOUND: On-Board
SPEAKER: Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1
MONITOR: DELL 2407WFP Rev. A04-> Down-graded from 3007 & 2707. I didn't like those. Especially the 2707. It came with 7 dead pixels.
POWER: Corsair HX520 -> Going to order soon.
Case: Lian Li PC65B /w Vapochill Ready -> soon to be Cooler Master 832. I really like this case.

System #3 (storage)
CPU: To Be Decided
MB: Intel XBX 975x
MEM: 2GB ST PC-6400 4-4-3-8 Silver
VIDEO: 1 X GEFORCE MX4400 -> I let my friend barrow 8800GTS.
HD: 160GB SEAGATE SATAII + 1 X 500GB SEAGATE SATAII -> need to work on this.
SOUND: On-Board -> Intel on-board is real bad. I might need a seperate soundcard.
SPEAKER: Not yet decided. -> Possibly Klipsch 2.1. This one is pretty cheap and good.
MONITOR: DELL 2405FPW
POWER: OCZ POWERSTREAM 520ADJ SLI
Case: Cooler Master 631

I will be working from system #3 to #1 in order. All will be updated here.

Here is my plan for the CM 631. I am planning to watercool this system.

Where did you find those grills? (girlfriend likes tigers, been looking for excuses to mod her PC )

Seriously, you have 2 quad core computers, and a storage system with a xeon cpu. Do you have a money tree in you back yard and instead of all the leaves they are $100 bills?

Fruit of labor.
I work hard and put most of my money into hardware instead of spending on other stuff like tobacco, alcohol, and games.
Of course, I sell my old hardware in exchange of new one.
If you're in love with something, then that's where your money is going to go.
You don't have to be a rich. Time and patience are the only enemy.
I am a real cheap person in life and I usually buy my stuff from HOT deals.

A change of plan : I am going to get rid of one qx6700 oem.
I will be placing the xeon on system #2 and system #3 is going to have something else. Asus Striker is also going away.
System #2 is going to have the xeon and another e-vga 680i.
Thanks to my friend Mike for the hook up.

Ok, back to the topic.
I can't cut the top out because it's going to take a while until I get ahold of my dremel.
My friend barrowed it to mod his mountain mod case.
When I get my dremel back, the hardcore modding begins.
Here is the finished product so far:

I will be working on my main systems now.
I will first make a plan on how to mod the 832s.

Well Im one year short of getting a job (15) cant wait to get a job so I can save up to upgrade my computer. Well my dad is letting me build him a pc this summer with a budget of $2000 - $3000 (he knows how to build pcs but just letting me do it for him )

It will be awhile though, around august. I will PM you though. forgot to add but its most likely cause he needs to decide if he needs something that powerfull or not, hes using a dell buisusness laptop now.

You can buy cable sleeving from any major online store.
Look for size 1/8'', 1/4'', and 3/8".


Still no reply from ewiz/coolermaster concerning the bent top.

Ok, ewiz.com rejected my RMA because they claim it is in "working condition."
What a waste of 2 weeks.
I could live with the case, but it seriously bothers me.
This is DEFINITELY NOT what I expected from a $300 case and Cooler Master.

Quick question, why do you need 3 gaming machines? honestly, is your house that big or something? Ive got one desk with one 2 computers (one for gaming one for downloading). I would of taken that 4-5 grand from the 2nd computer parts, and built up a project car.

Different priority's I guess.

im just like him. i never spend money on anything unless it is nescersary and spend my life looking at pc's and new stuff etc. i mean i took apart my 1st pc at 10, built my 1st at 13 (2ns pc in sig), now im 14 i have the one in my sig (top). built off a paper round. bought nothing for a year (birthday nd xmas helps) lol
i got plans for this year too.
cant wait to get a high paying job!! imagine my pc then
