I hope you guys enjoyed watching it step by step, its almost ending. I hope tuesday to have it up and running. Thx to all that replied and watched my case getting shape and form. TY ALL :D :D :D :D

Hey
I wanted to buy a new case for my new parts, since money was lacking :p i decided, Well lets just try to mod her :)

Parts:
MSI 975X PowerUp Ed.
MSI Nvidia 8800GTS
Cooler Master HYPER Intel LGA775
CPU INTEL Core2Duo E6600
Samsung 1Gb DDR2 800 x2
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty
WD Raptor 10k 74gb
WD 250GB 16Mb Cache SATA2 x2 (Raid0)
5x Cooler Master WhiteLED Fan 120mm
Seasonic M-12 700W

I would like you guys to criticize my work and tell me what you think so far, its my first mod ever. I took some ideas from ALOT of ppl in order to set my own.
So here it goes:

eac99ba4.jpg

Status: Im still painting the "red" parts, ill give it some 2\3 more coats of paint. Then im starting the mesh interior part to hide the PSU and the holes opening only small holes for the PSU cables to get through; Mounting the Radgrilz and doing 2 plexi led holders on the bottom and on top. Ill update has soon has possible (paint takes a while to dry)

may i know what brand of paint you use for the case?

The bourdeaux paint its form the brand 3v3 i think its a spanish brand. The black one im not even gonna name it bc its very bad paint.

Heres a Small update:

4\3 fully painted with the HDD's

DVD-R \ DVD-ROM and Floppy

What I mean is are you doing any sanding, priming, wet sanding, rubbing compound... etc trying to get a high shine.

Ahh, ok i did it like this:

The side panels i gave them some white primer, then paint, paint next i sand it and opened the air pistol to blow more paint and painted (i prolly still gonna give them another coat)
The case i just started to paint, sanded, paint, paint, sanded and paint paint.

I did no wet sanding (cause im not going for any glow and i dont see its point) and i didnt use no compounds at all, i wanted a non-bright black and only a bit of bright on red paint so i didnt need to use any compounds.

U P D A T E !!!!!

Vinyl Carbon Fiber lookalike HAS ARRIVED beware dvd-r\rom\floopy :D
eaac61f8.jpg

PSU Hideout bolted (ye i know i dmged paint a bit, but MB will cover it and ill prolly give it another coat of paint in the end)
eaac61ec.jpg

Bolts i used
eaac61d6.jpg

Fan looks from the inside
eaac61cd.jpg

Holes covers (need to open bolt holes in case and make cable size holes on the covers with the size of them so i can better hide PSU cables)
eaac61ae.jpg

Painted the front aluminum also, it smeared a bit, thou its not fully dry, when it is ill just use some paint removal liquid to put it WAYYYYYYYYY better :)

but v nice work!

I covered a few holes in the DVD-ROM ye, thou i dont think it will be a problem. Also i can cut them open if i want too, ill try it like this just to see how it does.

Almost completed, just missing opening the holes in the plexi and soldering \ conecting the LEDS.

thx Dark Prodigy, tbh so do i ;) 1st timer with LEDs in a case. I hope to have it done tomorow. Since the stores are closed in my town today i couldnt buy the polishing stuff to polish the panels and the case so tomorow ill do it and start mounting the components :D

I normally don't post on these boards for mods, but I couldn't resist for this one. I wanted to start out by saying that the red-on-black was an excellent choice of color. Also, the LED idea is SWEET! I can't wait to see what it all looks like when it's done. I'm just getting done putting my Antec 900 together and thought it was kind of plain. Now I'm itching to do something to it!!

P.S. When spray painting the mesh, what paint did you use, and did you have to use a primer before hand?

good job, can tell that you've put a lot of work in to it. I can't wait to see it 100% done. :D

Hey Enforcer, thx for your comments :) Well the mesh was already painted black, thou when i removed the adhesive tape some paint came with it especially where it was bended. I just used the same paint i used in the case, no primer, i advise you to paint the mesh and then take a good look at it because if some spots have too many paint it will fill the holes in the mesh (i had like 10 min freeing holes that where covered :p )

THX TO ALL FOR YOUR COMMENTS (caps intended)

After i polish it and start mounting ill post the rest of the pics, im hoping its done tomorow

Ok im on the verge of finishing it, ive started to assemble it should be done today.

hmm the black plastic on top kinda loooks out of place. i think it would look better if you painted it, even the same black color just to make it blend in with the glossy of the orange.

other than that, it looks great, i love orange

*throws up the "this thread is worthless without pics" gif* :p

Pics please :)

Bravo, very nice Worklog!

I have an older version of your case (dual PSU) and am currently planning on deconstructing it just like you did, so i can customize it as well. So, i am very thankful you detailed it the way you did, now i know what it looks like without the plastic cap, etc.

Where did you find the "Round Staggered" mesh? I have been hunting around the huge home improvement stores around here for something nice and all they have is punch plate with giant hex or BritishJack holes. Or worse expanded metal....
