So basically I used to post on Genmay, will do every once in a while. Now that I got a case modding bug again, and have a little more patience than I did when I was back in highschool, I decided it was time to give it a go again.

In high school my first mod was trying to make a window for my computer. Without a dremel or jigsaw, that was very difficult. I ended up having to replace the entire side panel with plexiglass and screwing the plexiglass into place.

Next I tried making an entire case of plexiglass. Having no money I had to opt for the very thin stuff. So thin, that I had to Use a piece of cardboard to support it on the bottom. That was short lived, when I was going to LAN and my friends computer fell on it XD.

Next was my Gundam case, which turned out looking like more of an art project than a computer case. It was the old emachine stripped down. The computer doesn't work any more but it involved alot of bondo to create a planet-like surface, lots of paint, and 2 battle scared gundams embedded into the side of the case.

Since then, I have taken a hiatus. Using cheap Dynex, and no name cases to put my last 2 computers I've built in. Now that I have an extra Dynex case laying around I decided to attempt to mod it now that I have a better sense of how to use alot of these tools haha.

Still not having a lot of money, some tools I just can't afford. Most of my work is done with dremel and drill. I don't have 120 mm Hole saw for my drill. The bit costs $35 at home depot! Plus I need to buy another extension for it. So I dremel openings as well as I can.

Go to harbor freight tools for the hole saw you need. I have seen sets of hole saws for $5-$10 that include the 120mm (4.5") one you need.

Enough with the intro for now I guess.. here are some pictures.

All this stuff can be found at http://angmod.blogspot.com as well.

Here is the stuff I bought!

And as of yesterday that is it.

Couple problems I ran into:

1- The thermaltake fans come with nuts and bolts to mount it. The only problem however is that going through plexiglass; the fan; and a filter, the bolts are not long enough. Lame.

2- It got cold over night when painting and the black did not adhere correctly to the panels, so I have to resand and repaint.

More as it comes up :D.

Wow! the harbor freight tools has 18 piece holesaw set for 5 dollars!

Good thing I bought 2 piece of plexiglass for that window!

Going to use the one I just cut for practice on etching and then, I just ordered holesaw from that website, and it will come into 10-14 business days :). This will make creating holes so much easier! Maybe I can cutout the 80mm fans too! exciting. Needs to be warmer for painting though :(

Sorry I guess I should post pictures of Iori Yagami.. who I am theming it off of.

Also the computer case will have Purple Glow like his energy. He is from fighting games made by the franchise SNK. He is seen in King of Fighters and the like.

Alright did more work!

I just have etching to go, and I think that's it.

For a first REAL case mod, I think it actually looks alright. Granted I spray painted in cold weather, plastic flew onto the case while I was painting, it's safe to say my paint job sucks.

Cable managing is very hard in this case, as there isn't alot of room. Just took a few pics, I know they aren't that good but it's 2:20am and my back hurts haha. I put the computer inside of it.. and here we go.

I know there are no grills on the fan, if I do decide to get some, not sure what I will get.
And these thermaltake 120mm fans DEFINITELY are not 21decibels hahahah.
