I've been wanting to build a w/c system for a while now and finally made the commitment to save up some dough for the parts.

I'm calling this project immortal because...well it hasn't fallen apart on me yet:p. This was my first dremel project and I've hacked and slashed my way thorugh this case for the past year. But the fact that the case is still in rocksolid condition is a testament to the quality of lian-li products!! I've been working on this case for a while but decided to start writing about it now because it's nearing its final completion. This w/c project will be the last thing I do before it goes into retirement and i wanna end it with a bang!!! :D

I was most definitely motivated and inspired by two specific threads...the rev n roli worklog and black narcissus...both top quality cases and excellent worklogs. Without those 2 threads, I probably would've never gone through with this project and wasted all my money this summer on girls and yager bombs and other stupid stuff :D

So...here are my parts, fresh out of the box from performance-pcs:

Swiftech Apogee
Maze4 SLI kit
2x Black Ice GTS 120
2x Panaflo 110cfm
Mcp 655
Alphacool Bullseye
DD Fillport
8' Clearflex 60 1/2"

Also picked up some algaecide from Petco, coolant from the audi dealership, and distilled water/vinegar from smart & final.

I'm gonna try to cram all of that into this:

When I was building a new system last year, I wanted a conservative case that still looked catchy. The lian-li V series was perfect for what i wanted to do and add the legednary lian-li quality and i was hooked! But...which size? The v1000 was too claustraphobic and the v2000 wouldn't fit on top of my desk, so naturally I picked the one inbetween. The v1200 case is perfect because you have the depth of the full tower v2000 at the v1000 height. I'm still tryign to figure out why the majority of the v-series i see are the 1000's ???

I started on this pretty late tonight and I'm tired from work so I'm just clean out all the blocks and prep everything for a busy day tomorrow:

Gotta love that mirror finish :D

Seems promising... Try taking some shots with the panels off to let us see what you are already working with. Plus the mods you've already done to your case.

Business law and anthropology summer classes have been really kicking my ass so i haven't had any time to work on my case! I finally found some time today to work on my reservoir mount, but first a overview of my case...

Here's my case, stripped down and nekkid...i could lift this case with my pinky!

I left the pump in there because it was so dam difficult to get the tubing through the grommet and onto the pump...not worth the effort for the cleaner pic

My purpose of creating a top window wasn't really for looks bot rather to cover up a shitty logo i carved into the top...I guess thats what i get for learning how to dremel on a lian-li....

The cut that every v series owner needs to make...I plan on widening the hole 2 more inches...i also cut through the middle portion of the hard drive rack to route power cables through, forgot to take pics of that tho...

Here's my door...Last time i checked, lian-li does not make a window for the 1200 series...

Mounted with M5 screws and nuts...

When I first cut the window, I decided to use "maximum strength" silicone glue to mount the window for the clean look. after about 3 months, the window totally lost grip and fell out...i am left with this nasty residue as a reminder of how shitty that stuff really is haha

2 80mm fans that blow directly into the hard drive racks....they really blend well with the case imo

i call it my zalman ninja mod, complete with stealthy ninja action! I just took the blue acrylic off the zalman fan controller and took one of the 5" bay place holders and drilled the holes in the correct places...easier said than done. it took me 3 tries to get it in there perfectly haha...i really wish i had a drill press

Here is the Alphacool bullseye reservoir. the build quality is OUTSTANDING...i would definitely recommend it to anyone shopping for a res. the dome shaped plexi really seperates it from the aqua computer/innovatek offering and the contrast is very aesthetically pleasing when placed inside a boxey computer. my only complaint is that performance-pcs didnt ship any barbs with it...

im gonna mount it in the front of the case, where the 120mm fan mount is. this piece really adds more depth to the front of the case and will also sit nicely next to the D5...i promise this will be the last hole i hack into my case haha...

...hackin away...

MOUNTED!! dam i really love how it looks...now should i a) paint it black b) wrap it in carbon fiber or c) leave it alone

why do hardware stores sell screws in packs of 3????

the barbs are at pretty much teh same height, so there will be minimum restriction on the inlet side of the pump.

OK so the first phase is done, next up is the top mounted radiator...i'll HOPEFULLY be able to start on it tomorrow

"why do hardware stores sell screws in packs of 3????"

because then you have to buy 2 packs= more money for them

haha yea thats what i figured but...at that same store they also sell screws in 4-packs...its a conspiracy i say, theyre just trying to see how many times they can get me back in there in a week...I think it's 15 times now :D
