Project: IDK yet

nice so far.. but when you post the pics from photobucket dont use the link that you have used here, use the one that is designed for forums... it starts with just makes it easier for people to see.

looking forward to seeing where this mod goes though :)

I know I should be encourging you, but I think many folk are being kind by not commenting...

Best of luck with IDK(WTFII).

sorry for the double post

But what do you mean they are being kind and no commenting is it that bad just tell me i you rather you be upfront then behide saying that sucks.

Either way im still going to finish and it is going to look three times better this time.

I think that what Mysterae is trying to say is that people don't want to put you off with their criticisms, so instead are sitting back and watching what you make of it. Any modder has to start somewhere, some people have the advantage of working in a trade or having parents who help that lets them get a headstart over others.

You're being creative, and without knowing what tools you have available, or what experience you have with them, or the other stuff you're working with I'm not about to start slagging off for rough work or the like either.

A few pointers might be in order though :)
There are some really good painting walk-throughs around, you may want to check some of them out - no need to get carried away and go for a mirror finish or anything, but I notice a lot of spots where paint is chipping off things. I can't tell if you've used a primer or if you have what type, but an etching primer really helps to stop the chipping. Also on the bottom of the case it looks a there is still some remnants of a sticker or the like - prep is really important when painting, cleaning things off completely, and removing any blemishes goes a long way to a good result - paint shows every little imperfection like it's under a spotlight.

You might want to try and straighten out the cuts on your window too, mark off some straight lines and get stuck in with a big flat file until the edge is right on the line.

All in all though, it's not a bad first effort, I like the direction you're going with it, keep on it, and show us how it turns out!

yeah i did you primer and sorts and i have t file the cuts and i know but i have to work all weekend so not much is going to get done. One thing is that i know i suck with a Dremel and i have to go back and fix everything but at least I' am trying.

Very eloquently put Legion.

I actually like the look. I'll agree with the comments about "cut first, then paint", but I honestly think the not-quite-even paint job looks kinda cool. Most people around here haven't ever even touched a can of bondo, so you don't have to take any flak.

I'm just curious; why did you take it apart if you were intentionally painting to look the way it does? I mean, you're obviously making it look very rugged, and it would have made more sense to take a can of spray-paint to it all together.

Just wonderin' if you had a reason.

But either way; it looks kinda cool (at least, it did before the filler). Nice to see that you don't need to be some kind of expert making a nice clean case for it to look cool.

the filler took two days to dry and it has been raining since so i can't work on it till it stops raining.

it is not bondo it is plastic fill and you let it harden then sand it then bondo on top HEHE
