Ok so I've been planning this for a while and only just got round to selecting most of the hardware to be used. Apologies for the poor phone camera pics at the moment!

The plan is to use this DFI motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813136056
to create a watercooled matx case based on this:

(Aplus Blockbuster BAW)
However the front panel will be entirely redesigned.

Here are some photos of the case frame that I will be modifying:

My current rig (quite old now, has had WC and lots of hardware swaps!):

I will be designing the case layout as soon as I can acquire some hardware to work with.
The radiators will be a front-mount 240mm and rear mount 120mm.
Most likely XSPC RS- series, the front being UV Blue.
This should provide enough cooling for a Phenom & 2900XT, which I have the following EK block for:

I am investigating using the following product to cool the Phenom:
Apogee-Drive.jpg

Swiftech Apogee Drive. It may be enough for both radiators but if not I will run an extra MCP350 in the loop.
My first mod was to prepare the hard drive cage to use rubber mounting grommets.
This involved some drilling and hammering  :D:

It will hopefully reduce resonance from the hard drives as the case is aluminum.

I'm cadding the front up once I've sorted the internals. It will be made from alu sheet, either machined or hand-made (depending on if I can persuade the technicians at uni to help).
I'm also mounting two handles on the front to allow easy carrying.

@Erasmus354: Good to know :)

using same mobo, going cf 4870, 4 gig corsair mem phenom 9850, 2.5 " hdd internal, in MDF :p
500 watts earthwatts.

I love the mobo :D

I'm not the planning type, i dont got ANY cads, no drawings, no numbers, it have always worked, i check its level, and all that alot tho, but it goes good for now, got 1 side wall up, front, bottom, halfways on the backplate, and it looks, not homemade.

tell me ur exp on mobo, i use usb drive for os, since i dont wanna deal with sb750 issue right now(its really just a driver or something)

Haha Ole

Yea planning is part of me, I'm an engineer.. just had to write up a project plan for Rapid Manufacturing of race car parts and I like to keep my CAD skillz up xD

Exp on mobo is infinity atm, contacting various US suppliers to see about UK shipping. Hopefully I won't screwed by tax. The only issues I have with the mobo are small: USB expansion needs right angled low-profile connectors (luckily I can source these), and an eSata expansion port, but that is easy to integrate into the case and hide the wires :)

+1 for the ApogeeDrive...I had one cooling a D805 and a 7950GT/Maze4 with a single BIX120. Temps were 38/35 idle - 48/40 load.

g/l with project...watercooling an SFF is always an interesting challenge.
