Building up the TJ07 again as a PVR for analog cable. Using titiantv.com and a miglia tuner for the setup. Only on the basics right now but need to pay for my CCNA classes so the money for the other parts gonna be on hold right now until student aid comes through or I decide to spend more. Newegg's parts are commin today and will update with the mobo and other parts later on.

Originally gonna call this 'project comet' and do a blue LED fan based mod with colors and sparkle paint. Decided I liked the raw metal color. Plus the LED fans aren't too cool for a room you sleep in. Plus LED fans get real old after a while imo.

Maybe I'll flip over the 1.8 GHz G4 (in my main rig now) into the PVR and put a Dual 2.0 G4 in my main rig. That way it'll encode H.264 w/o dropping frames b/c the stock proc I'll get with the mobo will only be a 400 MHz G4.

Next update will be fans. After that hopefully the other parts.

i wanna know how loud the case is with HDDs in it? cuz my wavemaster creates lota vibration when my raptor starts goin @ it.

Got the fans in. Top fans are a bitch to install. The mobo rails make a nice wire guide for the 92mm fans and other fan wires. I'll drop em down the back and then hook em up to a chromatic windmill when that comes in. Need to buy the mobo now. Will check back once I have the psu, mobo, ram, proc.

I'll prob. do something interesting for the power switch or maybe stealth mod the covers to keep the fascia stealth. Maybee that'll be the theme of this case, stealth. Def. will have to look into a sleeved psu.

Well. The hardware I had for the standoffs was installed. Good b/c then don't have to hike to Home Depot.

The SSTJ07 has no standard standoffs for the g4 mobo so I used the holes I drilled a while ago. I also found that the v2000 pci holder screws worked so just used those.

The mobo will be comming in the next week or this week.

PSU is coming today from newegg!

Then all i'll need is a gigadesigns proc upgrade.

Gonna do a push button switch on the pci cover.

The TJ07 has good clearance in the backside of the mobo tray

the v2000 i have has no clearance and the door and the lock slide f with the mobo mounting on that case.

advantage silverstone (no wheels tho)

^ Don't really know yet. Maybe RAID-1.

Ordered the fanbus. Ordered the networking stuff.

Look's like I'm gonna need another $1000 before school starts so I'll be dropping the cash soon for the mobo and the proc.

Wanna get this out of the way and working before classes start

Figure I can get 12 days of non-stop video with two 500 GB drives using 3ivx.

The power supply came. Tested, working, gay as shit gold fan things. Need to replace them with silver 80 mm fan guards to keep the appearance consistent.

You need to make the gray orange (3.3v) and the white black (ground) check ian's guide on xlr8yourmac.com. LINK

I'm going to be putting a 1.8 GHz G4 in here (from main rig) and put a 2.0 GHz G4 in my main rig (new proc).

next to come is the fanbus

after that I'll order the rest in time

Will order other parts soon. Fanbus installed. Cleaned case. Removed the fan stickers.

Will be bumping the red/silver theme perhaps. Maybe also get some red ccfls. Plus a W0070 or a Hiper R silver/red 580-w supply.

ordered the mobo today for $54 bux. that was good. going to try to find a deal on the proc. don't know what psu i'm plannin on. storage is still totally up in the air. I just found out that the raid sw my os uses can do jbod, 0, 1, or 10 or 0+1, so that'll be a piece of change to cop that 10 or 0+1. Too bad hdds are 1/2 price they are now. The pvr's gonna use some hdd space so maybee i'll just buy 3 250's for $300. Be nice if 3 250's cost $150.

people will prob. flame me for the W0070, but it has great sleeving, good connectors, and decent 300W performance. This system will not tax the psu that much because the proc only does 30W max!

Freescale really improved the 7447A over the 7455.

Next to come are the Ram, Proc, and hdd. The memory and code cruncher.

So today I ordered the psu, mobo, i'll be replacing the 1650V benq in my main rig with the 3550A and putting the 1650V in the tj07, now all I need is a gig-e router if I would ever need it.

ok, going to chill now and do the buying of the proc ram and hdd later this week.
