i'm no where near done looking through the link, but good job thus far :) it's looking like it will turn out to be a really clean mod. I love your window design as well.

/ thumbs up /

Yeah its a huge thread. Theres over 500 posts in the comments section. I tended to talk over most of my mods with the forum in the questions/comments thread.

Wait till you see the panels too, theyre nice. I just recently finished them off.

That case is so cool! I really like the look of the memory and the UV stuff.

Good goddamn. That looks like it cost more than my car. Must be nice to have $$$.

Nice case, though.

How much did or would the water jetting cost? That's some slick cuts.

I just read that all, and, 1.) Damn my head hurts just thinking about all the work and cash thats gone into this, and 2.) I could only dream of somethhing like this. Easily the best mod(s) I've ever seen, the work and detail that has gone into this blows me away. DEFINATLY 2 thumbs up (if I had more, they'd be up too, but unfortunatly, I only have the standard set of 2).

Hehe, thanks guys. I didnt expect such an enthused response.

Waterjetting was done by my forum buddy 64Thunderbolt on OC. He cut me a huge deal as he is not only cutting those panels but the Vapochill panels and some other parts. He also is getting some nice recognition out of it. The two panels were about $100 which included 6hours of programing that he did on his own to path out the machine.

Overall the computer isnt as expensive as many people think. I would pverzealously guess including many of the parts I already had, about $3k total for the project. About $700 more than I expected but little parts like paints and nut+bolts have added up.

Keep an eye on the project. Ive been working on it alot lately and I should have a ton of updates this week.

Theres still alot left to do.

Since I'm not registered at OCforums. I'll post this here for ya.

92725T22 & 92725T42 at McMaster-Carr, hex perforated metal with the same stats as mnpctech's honeycomb modders mesh.

92725T22 - 36" x 40" sheet of steel (.030" thickness/22gauge) is $25.28
92725T42 - 36" x 40" sheet of aluminum (.032" thickness/20gauge) is $36.61

No minimum order at McMaster-Carr.

You are my hero. I dont know how I overlooked that at McMaster (my playland!). Youre getting a big fat mention in the thread!

Thanks alot buddy!

BTW whats the "tl:dr" thing? New jargon.

I was thinking of cutting a design in my PC-60 like you did in the summer. How tough do you think it would be to find a place that could do that for me?

I have alot of ideas floating around, but they are just too intricate for a dremel and jigsaw.

So far everything looks excellent, I'm glad to see you're taking your time and not cutting corners (as far as I'm concerned):D

Hey fushy :D
nice to see you over at the [h]
Great case, i saw the worklog at the OC forums
i think i made a comment, but if i didnt, i love all the work you put into it
it also helps that it looks great :D

Wow, I've been following case mods for a few years now and your journal definatly stands out as the most detailed I have read.

I like the color scheme and those side panels are KILLER!

Awsome job!

Thats gonna be one sweet case when your done. I really like the design on the side panels and I cant wait to see how the VC panels come out. Doesn't matter that you can dump more $$$ than most into a project like this, it's all custom and nicely thought out/implimented. Well done, definately [H]ard.

it stands for "Too long, didn't read". It started on the Something Awful forms, thankfully it now gets you banned for saying it (at least it does there).

Word,

Just reflects on their own mental compentencies. No biggie. I guess reading is still tough for some.

Props man,

fuck the tldr guy, I read the entire thing and was thoroughly impressed with the time and effort spent in the case and in the worklog.

The vapo mod is sick, makes my lian li look like a h0.

glad to see yer almost done, nothing better than reveling in a long hard journey at an end.

Lata

That case is awesome and those side panels are probably the coolest I've ever seen on here. I can't wait to see the final result.

You mention that you are taking AFROTC. I'm doing the same and commision in May. I'm going into Air Battle Management. PM me if you have any questions or just want to chat.

i haven't read it yet (3:00 AM now) but that case makes me wish there was a much bigger

very nice. i guess tomorrow or something (later today?) i'll curl up with a good webpage and read it.

/definitely too tired to be posting now/

read the project log thread... definitely gonna check up on that a lot.

that's a lot of work you put into that case (and money)

whatever happened to the 'broke college student' thing most people have going on?

The Broke college Student is still here. I just work over breaks and get a small stipend from Air Force ROTC. So Im spending yours and my taxes. The majority of the project was bought last summer when I worked full time, I make alotta hooch when I do that.

Now its just buy this and that here and there to get it all done.

This one discusses the designs of the 6 fan grills ect. I have sketches and I would love some input.

Thanks.

Mod On.

Hey Fushyuguru hows that memory? I have my eye on a stick of Corsair XMS but those Geil are really nice, problem is that I want to OC my 2500+ just not sure if the Geil are able to handle it. Would be nice to hear of how they perform. I have a 92mm version of that fan, it works great. I had a crappy 80mm for an intake but that was too loud removed it and found that the 92mm working as the exhaust was pulling in air, I just thought that was pretty cool. It's pretty quiet too, going to try and mod the case for a 92mm intake later.
The front fan grill looks pretty wicked so does the second 120 grill. For fan grills you might want to drop bonzanego a PM or take a look at his site.
Corsair PC-3500

Crimand:

I actually like the GEIL sticks. It does what they claim and then some. Fastest Ive touched so far without volt mods and sinking my board is 230 fsb with the PC3500 gold dragon. Thats at the rated timmings of cl2 3-3-6, T1 (it didnt seem to like to stray from its rated timmings, but meh -- its quick). Since the initial testing Ive been running it at 220fsb 24/7 no sweat for 4 moths or more. Theres better sticks out there (like one with BH-5 chips) that have tighter timings, but for the price, cant beat it. And they look slick, but who ever looks at dimms right?

One thing I should mention though is people have had mixed opinions. Some GEIL worked out great, some it was quirky on their systems. I was willing to take a chance and it panned out well for me.

For those not willing to take chances I always recomend the tried and true corsair or more often, kingston hyper X. Try your best to get BH-5 chips if you do spend the money on a major brand. Check out here for the latest places to grab BH-5 chips. They overclock like monsters.

As for the grills. Bonzanega was actually somewhat an inspiration for the fangrills. I always liked his layering of different materials. So theyll be of a similar construction but of a style all mine. Its gonna be tough work since Im dead set on 6 completely different fan grills. Though in the end it will make the case that much more fun to look at.
