Project Frankenweenie Update-folding small

With all of this talk of multiple boxen, i7s, 100k ppds, VMs and bigadvs I thought it was time to talk about life on the other end of the spectrum. I finally got Project F going about as good as it's going to get. To recap so that nobody has to do a search for the original thread, I gutted an e-machines box and for $200 put in an new motherboard, 4 gigs of RAM, an Athlon II 240(dual core, stock), donated my old 4850 card to the cause and gave it to one of my kids for Christmas.

As of this time I have a GPU client running and 2 uniprocessor clients running as well. The uni clients were less hassle for me to set up versus a SMP.They are all set up as services so my kid does not have to kick the clients on when he boots up the computer. If left alone it looks like PF could pull down 3k per day according to Fahmon, with most of the work coming from the GPU. Of course it does not do that as it does not run all the time and my son games a lot but hey it's doing better than I thought and besides, points are points no matter how small.

Agreed. Have a few systems running these clients as well for the same reasoning.

I'd run the SMP client if I dicked around with it enough. Why can't it be like the GPU client where I can double click it and call it a day? The regular CPU client just isn't enough PPD imho, especially for the amount of power it would use.

But man, what I'd do for a couple grand to spend and get that Classified SR-2 board + 2 Xeon i7's @ 4GHz + 4xGTX295's!!! Man, that alone would almost be 100k PPD!
