well im in the development stage of a custom desk. and i figured why make 3 threads of questions, and then 1 of work. so im consolidating it from the get go.

i have a semi general idea of what i want. i want a classy desk. but that is very functional as more than jsut a desk.

right now im thinking of the computer storage area. i have a window in my case and im fixing to watercool with UV blue. so i want to see it. right side, and back can be enclosed as well as top and bnottom. btu i dont want to worry about cooling as it will be pushed pretty much flush with the back and side.

ill get a drawing up tonight or tomorrow of a basic idea and then im guna just evolvefrom there as i think of what iwant to add now and in the future.

if u have any suggestions for ways of keeping it cool in a prolly 1/4 - 1/2 inch wood desk i would greatly appreciate and consider it

Well, if the computer is going to be in a cabinet in the desk, then you will have to devise a ventilation system for it. Otherwise, mount it near the ground (hot air rises) on some sort of shelf. Make sure people can see it; you want to show off your watercooling :D

ya thats what i am thinking about now. it wont have a front door. at least not as of now.

and the side of course will be open for show =)

im drafting a stage 1 blueprint right now ill scan it and get it up here shortely

these are the idea stage blueprints

they are simple and undetailed so i can go back and change them later.

use the same scale size(in pic 1) for each blueprint in this post

if you can tell me otnight how to make hte grid show up when i save them from photoshop ill do that to make it easier to see the scaling.

Moved the thread because custom desks really have nothing to do with modding. Good luck on the work though.

I'm liking it alot, where is everything going (monitor, case, speakers).
