Essentially, as I started out with this project, my goal and thoughts in mind were to keep this project completely simple and completely clean. Now to start, I need to give credit where credit is due, the thought process behind my case came from alot of brainstorming while peering at thaddeus.co's project MDPC Wannabe. Now while he is moving toward the direction of the cooler master case, I will be staying in the Lian-Li vicinity, which has always been my case of choice, modding or not.

Recently purchased myself a new PC-65B case, its been around for a while and is a very trusted case. So the basis for the project and its layout will begin with this case.

Moving onto hardware, the first elements of my hardware have already arrived. My ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard arrived earlier today as well as my ARCTIC MX-2 compound and my arctic silver cleaning and polish compounds. Also some 45 degree angle black sata cables have also arrived. I will be using my trusty SilverStone Strider 600 watt (SST-ST60F) PSU for this project as well.

Within the next day or so the remaining parts will begin to come in, these include my AMD Phenom II x4 955 Deneb 3.2 AM3, my Corsair Hydro 50 and lastly my Corsair DDR3-1600.

Tomorow I will be ordering my sleeving kits, both blue and black as well as blue molex connectors which I will switch between the black ones already on my PSU and these new blue ones.

Also slated for arrival, there not lean and mean, but 2 9600 GSO's by ASUS.

Now we can get into the nitty gritty;

The first thing that defenitly needs to be done is the fan on the rear of the case, and on the top of the case. These two fans are both 80mm and will not be workable at this point. My Hydro 50 is going to be mounted on the rear of the case, so the hole will need to be enlarged to 120mm to accomidate the new fan. The top fan will be removed and I will add 2 120mm fan slots up at the top for increased airflow, this will also give me options later in the future if I decide to move up a little in the water cooling industry, the Hydro 50 will be my first dabble into watercooling.... getting my toe dipped first, before I jump in.

The window on the case will be removed from the door when it is ready to be etched, And than drilled to allow for a 1.5mm led to shine forth onto the etching. This will be my least favorite part of the modification, I hope to god my hand stays steady this time..... (thoughts of last time, eeeeeeh).

Again, the focus of my mod is clean and simple, I still hope to give a wow factor, but still make people think, man, I want one! ;)

Sounds like a good idea.
You do need to keep in mind the forum sticky rules.

"General guidelines:

The first post in the worklog must contain images."

yup. uploading them to photob. right now

Got my video cards on order, 2 ASUS 9600 GSO's for sli config........ cpu and memory should be arriving tomorow.

Officially hit my first snag. (no project is complete without snags)

The motherboard tray backplate where the 80mm fan is, is to small to support a 120mm fan. Solution.... the top 80mm to be replaced with the 120mm. Will make the cables a little harder to move around and even setup, but im confident it can be done. Posting pictures in a minute or two, going to load hardware in first :) CPU and memory came! :)

okay, next couple snags reached, but now I am going for a new approach as well. I did my test run on the system to make sure all parts are currently working, everything seems to be fine right now.

Now the arguious task of taking everything apart and getting it ready for major reconstructive surgery.

I am removing the 3.5" HDD bay on the bottom in favor of the extra room on the bottom of the system, this will also remove the speaker and mounting for this hdd bay.

I will be taking one of my black 5.25" drive bays in also for retrofitting the Vantec Nexus-301 onto it. I will have to keep the green plexi on it, thats fine (I suck at plexi), but will work on replacing the white LEDS on the unit to a blue led.

I will be having a section taken from the top plate that will than have modders mesh fill this gap, my choice is not the greatest for this, but my choices are limited.

The side panel with its window will have a small hole drilled on the bottom of the plexi where a small blue led will be placed, which will be used to illuminate the etching being done (that by me).

Hey thanks for the credit! Didn't think a project of mine would inspired someone's project.

I'm looking forward to seeing this! subbed

I is now broke, just finished two more orders, and thats it for the orders.

Performance PCS;
Cable sleeving, slot covers, radgrill 1x120, sata power clean cable, case fans, stuff!

Newegg;
More memory, 2x2GB, puts me at 8GB, New wireless N router and a new mouse pad

So, im broke. :)

PIX COMING SOON! :D

Had to re-order a new 24-pin molex connector, I killed 3 of the 24 pins and didnt feel like re-doing the pins, im lazy.

PIX COMING SOON (Broken record)

TEASER SHOTS (I am alot farther along than this btw)

Better explination of pics;

Top pic = My work area, messy messy messy!
You may notice the motherboard is loaded with 2 9600 GSO video cards, one of them has been removed so I can install my Razer AC-1 sound card. As much as I hated to do this.

Bottom pic = Case after 120mm hole installed on top. This is the primary intake for the case breathing fresh cool air atop of my 120mm Corsair H50. This has been covered by a Ratgrillz. The bottom of the case is completely different as well. The lower HDD tray no longer exists and has been removed. The bottom of the case is also now covered with a nice sound dampener pad and cathnode.

CUrrently at this moment, only a few things remain before this system is complete.

I have 2 cables left to sleeve and more dampener pad to go down and this case will be complete. A stealth mod for the blu-ray drive has already been completed and works like a charm, infact the system is already up and running, just need to finish with the sleeving.
