Well a few weeks ago i got a case from a friend and i decided it would be the perfect case for me to my first mod on and see just air flow cooling can do. I have already done a water setup on my current rig and i wanted to see just what air could do for cooling.
Though, i did not have my camera threw most of the mod, you can see the mod's i did to the case though.
The pc is my G/F's- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Clawhammer, Abit KV8 Pro, ATi Radeon X800 X/L & ATi Silencer 5, 1GB of GIEL DDR 400, 74GB Raptor, 160GB IDE, 500GB Sata.
Video Card is running at 450/540 36 under load, 30 at Idle.
Chip is runnig at 2.4 28 Idle 34-36 under Load.
I added 7 fans total and a fan controller, I still have some cable managment to do yet but thats minor. Here are some pictures of the case.
Oh, Not sure why SpeedFa is not reading RPm's right but oh well :p

Looks very clean (yeah, the cables could use a little attention) but good job on adding the other accessories!

Yeah, i thought it be nice to see a nice cool machine and not have the mess with water. Acctually the machine is very quite too, I enjoyed doing the modd, hope it shows people with cases like this what you can really do with air. The 2 top fans are pushing air out, the 3 side fans are pushing air in. along with 2 in the front. 2 in the back are pushing air out. The powersupply has 2 fans also, in/out. I am very happy with the perforamce of the air and how well i could OC the pc with just air

Dual Boot ;)
PC is running linux and windows, just easier to show temps and such in windows :p
Notice the window on the side of the case, :D
 
Here's where i want you guys to come in, You seen my first few mods, now what do you think i should do next? Open to your idea's
 
ahh i see, well the mod looks awesome imho. I think you should do a scratchbuild case next. Take it to the next level since you obviously have the modding skills.
 
Nice modding. Did you etch that window yourself? That case has alot of work left, to reach it's full potential IMHO.

I suggest re-wiring the PSU. All those cables make me sad. Make long strings of 90 degree molex connections... Cut and measured perfectly for your devices... rather than the rats nest look you've got going on ^_^. Dye the cables a pretty colour (maybe... blue? hahah). and that'll go a LONG way.

Paint the inside. Such a big beautiful window shouldn't be restricted by all that silver metal. I'd suggest a neutral colour that contrasts well with blue... Maybe black? Graphite grey (very pretty on the inside of a case IMO).

Those purple fan mounts... have to go. Once again, blue or the complimentary colour mentionned above.

After that, you'll be 100% done IMO. It looks great now (100% better than stock easily), but has alot more potential for even MORE modding!

I have done a scratch built, just never moded it (see sig)
I plan on doing that when i build my conroe machine this winter

I plan on doing some painting, but this case is just for my gf so this winter when i build my new Rig i am going to do alot of custom work to do :D

I was thinking of working on the PSU this weekend, what all steps do i have to go threw to re-wire the psu, i have never attempted something like this and have a few concerns before i do it.
 
Well... basically what I think you should do is cut each of the molex connections down to about 2" and slap a Male molex onto them... Then make individual "branches" for each of your main components...

Lets see if I can make something in paint to show you what I mean :S

OOOK. So here... you cut off all the old Molex's (do this one at a time so you can rewire them PROPERLY - People say that as long as all the red's, yellows and blacks go to the same place you'll be OK. I tried this and WAS NOT)

Then, measure the distance between each of your drives, and add the 90 degree molex's where each drive's connection is... IF you have 2 HD's and a PSU, all in the slots above eachother, you'll need about an inch of space between the HD's and 2 between the top HD and the PSU. This is the key to a really nice case.

Cut only the lengths you need. Measure everything with twine, and cut to length. Give yourself an extra inch on each connector...

Test each cable with somthing... A voltmeter preferrably...

Dye all the cables black or sleeve them (dying is much better IMO) black or blue. You're good to go
