Hello there, [H]|F!
It's been quite some time now that I've been wanting to design a case for myself - for pretty much the same reasons the guys at NCASES did it. My project has went throught a lot already. From a cube-shaped 30cmx30cm box, it went to a vertical, Bolt-like case and now to a horizontal watercooled case.
The main idea is to get as much as possible inside the smallest enclosure possible. My latest and greatest inspiration was the M1 project, which, by reading all the designing story, taught me a lot. Like, for example, that you won't be able to go smallest form factor possible without making compromises.
So my goals became:
Right now, I've reached a layout I like. It uses, however, two 1U PSUs, which a lot of people don't seem to like because of it's loudness - but that is not a limiting factor to me. I'll be using it alongside a headset 90% of the time, I'm also already used to PC noise and, finally, I'm a bit deaf (like, really just a little).
I'd like to make it clear that I ABSOLUTELY DON'T PRETEND to: (1) kickstart it and sell to people interested and (2) have any profit with it.
That being said, I DO PRETEND to upload my CAD drawings of the final result so anyone who has a structure like me can fabricate one for it's own.
Now, let me talk about 'my' structure. I'm only being able to develop this because my dad gave me a way to fabricate the case - he runs a business of recycling equipment and own two industrial sized CNC's. Also, he haves the contacts to get the material, to get the cutted plates bent, to get everything painted, etc. So, yeah, a big thanks to him
(Btw, I wish I heard of the M1 sooner... Perhaps I could have made and sent them the prototypes... Oh well. I'm getting off topic, sorry.)
Anyway, the project won't be fabricated until march or later, so that gives me (or us, if you want to help) quite some time to tweak it's layout. The reason for that is that I'll be attending to AutoCAD and CNC classes until then, so, yeah.
So, what about the design itself? Ok, ok. Let's get into that.
I've already experimented a lot - and by a lot I mean an awful lot - of differente layouts. This is the best design/layout achieved to date:
25/01/14
About 9,5 liters!
Pump is Swiftech's MCP35X, reservoir is Bitspower's Z-Multi 150, radiator is Alphacool ST30 2x120mm and waterblocks are Bitspower's Maximus IMPACT full motherboard block and XSPC's 780ti one. Fittings are all going to be compression ones.
So, what do you guys think? Are there changes you'd do to the current layout? Let me know!

So my goals became:
- For it to be watercooled
- For it to be smaller than 15L
- To look good
- And to be fully featured
