So I have a basement that was in need of some character, so I decided I would add two things I love to it.

My idea is to build a fully functional bar as well as run cat6 through the ceiling. Also set up gigabit ethernet as well as wifi supplying the room.

Concept:

Forgive me for picture quality. I only have a cellphone to take pictures with.

Update: A little background.

I bought this house and the 50's GE fridge was left because they didn't want to move it. It works perfectly, in fact too well. It will freeze my beer lines if it is on anything above 1 notch over defrost.
The GE fridge has Guinness on tap and the "newer" fridge has Sam Adams Winter Lager on tap (currently)
The 3 side tap hole are drilled through a steel "kick plate" that you find on school doors.
The bar top is 1/8 steel from the local steel and iron company.
I got the wine fridge free because it was a floor model being thrown out.
The second fridge was being thrown out by someone getting a new fridge.
The large piece of plywood to the left of the GE fridge has a 20u rack mounted on the other side. This holds my 24port 10/100/1000 switch as well as a 24port patch panel, my cable modem and a 4 port wireless router.
Speaker covers are from an old PA system.
Lights are "fire resistant" glass and metal fixtures.

Total cost as of right now is about $1500-$2000.

Free
Keep in mind the bar top was free because I traded tech support for it. Normally would have been close to $800.
Wine fridge and the 2 fridges were also free.
Bar sink
Bathroom door
Speakers and Reciever I had

Not Free
Kegerator kits were $300 for Guinness and $200 for normal set up.
Wood was around $200
Drywall $150
Bathroom total is around $350
Galvenized roofing was $150
Glass was $60
Cat6. rj45 jacks and plates were around $200
Switch was $120

Used half of an old swelled oak desk.

Nice progress. Where are the computers going? Or are you going to set it up on the bar itself? Whats the plan here? I'm very curious, it has so much potential, its exciting to think of the possibilities :)

Now tell me, how much power does that ancient fridge consume? ;)

The bar room is 12' wide and 37' long. So the tables can go along the wall opposite of the bar as well as the large empty space at the end. The bar dimensions are 6' x 10'x 28"

I wanted to keep people downstairs and off my white carpet. So I put a bathroom off of the bar/LAN room.

My whole idea for this was and industrial/steampunk feel. So I bought 6 "fire rated" light fixtures. You often find these in factories or barns. I found a knock off versions for 22$ a piece. Which was way better than $150 a piece for the real thing.

Also mounted a 27" dell monitor with component, composit, vga and dvi for TV and eventually a media pc.

I work at a school so in my years I have found old PA boxes from our old system. I found 4 (unfortunately) mismateched PA boxes that I used to cover my speakers.

Dear god, keep this work-log going on brosif!

Awesome job! I wish I had a basement now haha. This really makes me want to start my project.

Im coming to live with you. Bar + PC gaming + Bathroom close by = Perfect!

awesomly done bro!!

All awesome but I am really interested in seeing the PCs set up as well as specs :D

Nice. Not my taste, personally, but you've done a fine job. I especially love the ethernet ports in the ceiling--after all, who ever actually looks there? Are you putting in electrical outlets there, too?

There is 3 outlets along the red wall already. they have the silver metal face plates if you look close. The opposite wall has 2 outlets and extra power is run from another room if needed.

Did you run a dedicated circuit for the LAN PC area? 12 gaming PCs + monitors will draw lots of power.

Place looks great though. Keep the good beer flowing as well! None of that pisswiser crap!

The power is coming from 2-3 circuits. We've had 12 computers going at the same time and we didn't get into any issues.

As for beer. Guinness will always be in the GE fridge and the other 1-3 taps will always be microbrews. May do a pale ale next.

I've had a couple Dogfish ales which if i remember right is from the NE area. If all else fails go Belgium Ale! My personal fav.

Industrial FTW.:D

Great job and look. Love the galvanized panels for the sides of the bar.
Very nice work.

Wow def. subbed!!! Too bad I won't be going to Upstate NY(Syracuse) until summer of 2013 :(

Guinness on tap, RJ45s in the ceiling and a table that looks like quarters bounce off of it really well. How much do you charge for a monthly membership with unlimited beer consumption?

How does the Guinness pour out of the kegerator? I assume you've got all the nitrogen and other equipment for it? I've got a small kegerator in the mancave that has seen its fair share of Widmer Hef and others but I haven't braved the Guinness yet.

Awesome work.
