Case:
Antec 1080AMG / Chieftec Dragon

What I'm going to do:
-Increase 80mm side intake to 120 or 140mm.
-One 120 or 140 blowhole
-Fill in bezel ridges with bondo then cut a 120mm intake, covered with either plexi or mesh. I'm still deciding on the theme, but if I go with industrial I have some close-linked chainlink that would look awesome covering the intake.
-Paint the outside with this cool tractor OEM paint I found - kind of a reddish orange glossy acrylic. I'm tired of black cases.
-Inside will be painted pearly white. Maybe some white accents on the outside somewhere but I want to get the cutting out of the way before focusing on aesthetics.

What I'm not sure about yet and could use suggestions on:
The front door is going to be a hassle. When I used this case I hated having to open it to access my optical drives. I'm thinking maybe some kind of drive stealthing or if I can find the parts, some type of pneumatic or non-electronic cylinder to open the door by itself upon pushing on it.
Rear exhaust. Two 80mm holes on top of one another. There isn't room to make a 120mm hole so I have no idea. I'm certainly not using any 80mm fans.

Anyway there's more but I have to pick up some stuff before starting. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Awesome, I have one of these sitting in my closet. They are still great, aside from 80mm fans.

Picked up many of the parts. Was pleasantly surprised by the trim - $8.99 for 18 feet at O'Reilly. It's not uchannel but I'm sure it will work just as well.

Still looking for the right white for the interior. Also picked up jbweld to see how it would work filling in the bezel. If it doesn't work or takes more than one tube, I'll just grab some body filler from O'Reilly since one can costs as much as two packages of jbweld anyway. Going to drill out the rivets and start cutting fan holes tomorrow, so more pictures and maybe a video of my crappy work with a Dremel to come!

I still have a PlusView 2 up in my attic. It is a hell of a case. Used it for 4 builds. I agree the 80mm fans sucked. I modded the window door on mine & added 2 140mm fans on the side.

Didn't get to start yesterday due to unforeseen and spider-filled circumstances. Should be able to start today and will get the video and pictures up later.

what store did you get the trim at?

It's in the post.

Any auto parts store should have it. I also heard you can use screen door trim from a place like Home Depot, but I like the auto trim because it has adhesive already applied to the inside and it's probably cheaper.

edit: Work proceeds slowly. Once it stops raining I might be able to get some actual work done.

Couldn't justify spending $50 for a holesaw for one 140mm hole, and I'm not the type of person (re: scumbag) who buys items with the intent to return them after use, so a drill, dremel and jigsaw will have to work together.

It's been raining for three days straight. I don't have a garage to work in and this waiting is irritating me. Hopefully it clears up later today and I can finish the cutting and start painting.

I'm glad I asked to change the thread title - it's a lot more accurate now. I've finally decided what I'm going to do with the bezel. After cutting out my intake and filling in the rest with bondo, I'm going to use a piece of plexi or poly (same thing?), drill a 120mm circle of holes, paint it white, put grommets in those holes and mount it up in front of the fan. The only problem is last time I tried drilling through plexi I ended up with a cracked sheet and a drill bit covered it globs of plastic. And that was using the lowest speed.

Any tips for drilling? I know covering it in tape and putting it on a hard wood backing helps, but if I'm missing something else I'd like to know before starting.
