I was getting really low points on these on a new machine.
Anybody else seeing low production?

what i seem to find is that ppd productions seems to dip down about 15-20% from about the 5-8th day of the month through about the 10-13th day of the month. i don't know if thats the case for everyone but thats something i have noticed for myself personally

I've got 10 out of 14 cores folding them.
They fold at the minimum speed possible, ie 1.6 PpHpG, on my AMD MP's.
I haven't seen this low a Points per Day ( 1500 ) since well before Stanford started the Big Gromacs.
Then you at least had Tinkers to pull your Points per Day up.

Luck........ :D

I pm'd dlucent who is running this set of proteins, he said
Unfortunately, unless I am finding that a lot of people are having the same problems as you, I can't change the statscredit (as it would be unfair to everyone who hasn't had problems). Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks very much for your feedback
There have been other threads, with several people reporting lower ppd, but apperntly not enough to cause him to reevaluate it. Bruce over at the folding forum gave me this
You're probably seeing low point values because you're not running with optimizations. All WUs are benchmarked with SSE optimizations on, and if your hardware doesn't have SIMD, Gromacs will run unoptimized, but comparatively slower than Tinker. They keep talking about discontinuing Tinker, and if/when it happens you'll probably decide to discard all those older machines, or at least quit worrying about the points.
line of crap. I was surprised he didn't tell me to plug my computer in.
When I first set up this X2 3800 system I was getting up to 500ppd. I was getting < 200 ppd on these slow proteins. I took off the advemthods flag and now I'm back up to 428ppd with a p1141 and p2071.
/edit - or about 4.5 PpHpg
Dlucent also said that they should be off advmethods pretty soon and will go out to the general public

To answer some of your questions, take a look at this thread: http://forum.folding-community.org/viewtopic.php?t=13923&highlight=761

Seems these are -advmethods beta proteins.
Yes, and as Bruce mentioned they may be getting rid of Tinkers and want to put in deadlineless Gromacs. For more info just search on my user name over there and you will see many more threads. This could just be a case of poor performance on AMD's and we should just turn our machines off.
