Progressive HD?

I have an older projection Toshiba TV that has just your regular component hook ups, green, red, and blue I think. The front of the TV has a logo with HD Progressive. What exactly does this mean?:confused:
 
My first guess would be that it just does 480p and nothing higher. Have you tried searching the part number.
 
that means the tv will accept a progressive signal and do its own signal processing and interlacing the signal internally.
 
do you have a model number ?


i'm guessing it's an older crt projection tele...

If it's a CRT RPTV a lot of them scaled 480i/p sources to 540P or 1080i which made it look better on certain sets (and hence the "hdtv"). There's a chance his television may also accept an incoming 1080i signal via component. YMMV depending on the actual tv set, available settings and the equipment used along with it.

OP you may want to google your exact model television set for more info, try plugging a search here and here while you're at it.
