Programming a distributed system

Is there a way to take the client off of my taskbar, yet leave it running? (like the graphical F@h client?)

Pat,

I'm thinking you can probably use Larry's HideItX to get it out of sight.

<Time elapsed>

Well I was going to recommend Larry's HideItX program, but I went there to get the link and he's no longer offering it. Not sure what else you can use.

Anyone?

EDIT: Larry has since put the link back up here.

Can always run it as a service :D ... Kidding ;)

Ideally, I should design a win32 program with a tray icon, and a console you can open on demand...

Just looked at the large render, and its *very very* close to being noiseless! The render will definitely be done this weekend! Keep going people, give us a final boost ;)

I started last evening running your client on an XP 1900+. Hope this pushes you to completion this weekend. Let us know when it is done.

Its very near done, but there are not as many people as at the start, we would need more people to complete faster. We will need to let the system run for all of today, and possibly monday and tuesday as well, at the current pace....

Just got back from vacation. Sorry I haven't been running the client for the last day or so. Now I have my main rig running instead of my laptop.

There are 14 people connected now. This should give us a nice final boost. If things continue to go as well, the images should be released within 48 hours :)

Thank you all :) And don't abandon yet ;)

Ahhh, takes me back to the good old days. I used to render on my 16MHz 286 with 1Mb Ram. It'd take 48 Hours to render a background and a glass ball at 320x200. I'd be up for lending cycles in the future.
