Program to resize program windows?

I have a 24'' monitor and its annoying to manually resize all the windows and move them around to best use the space. i was wondering any one had a program that would do this automatically. LIke i could set a specific size to resize windows to and they coudl snap to the edges of the screen. All the ones i've found have this snap features but only allow you to maximize/minimize. thanks
