Program to put password in folders

Hah. As is the required standard response:

"Your mom is still going to find your porn."

:D

XP pro lets you do this anyway, other than that, gnupg, or pgp or anything like that will encrypt things, but youll take a performance hit decrypting them, if youre nto too fussed about style, put them in a password protected zip and navigate it with Explorer, depends if youre bothered about actual security, or if as S1nF1xx said, youre just hiding pr0n.

If you use EFS, you and the rest of your family will have to have different Windows logons. You will also have to be running XP Pro, as Home doesn't support EFS. Plus, if you don't backup your Certificate, and your user is deleted, you will never be able to decrypt the data.

There are freeware apps out there that will do this, and a simple Google found these:

But if you're hiding porn, you'll eventually do the equivilant of leaving the tape in the VCR. ;)

I've used Folder Guard with much success in the past. I think they offer a very low-priced version which will protect one folder (so you can put all your "sensitive" information in there). But I agree with the other posters--an easy way to do this would be to simply create a new user account in Windows for you, deny access to the other user, and then encrypt the files so that the other user can't take ownership of the files and give themselves access.
