Program to block acess to certain website's

Does anybody know of a program to block certain website's that I specify?Preferably a free one.

Or is there a way to do it in windows.

Edit your hosts file.

open the hosts file and edit it. theres nothing to it.

Well when I first clicked on it windows did not know what program to open it with.

That's why I asked! I used notepad to open it.

the site I am trying to block looks like this

https://www.citizensbankonline.com/default.asp

It won't block it for some reason but it will block www.citizens bank.com.

Is there any way to make this work.

Open in notepad.

Add this line:

127.0.0.1 www.citizensbankonline.com

Save, exit. The site will no longer work.

Can't see why you would want to block that... but hey, our's is not to wonder why
