I know this isn't tech related but I just got a nice coupon in the mail for 15% off ProFlowers. They've become my favorite place to order flowers because you don't get the crappy local florist stuff where they shove a few wilted flowers in a bowl and leave it on someone's doorstep to die. It's a fedex delivered box. They package it well enough that I sent flowers in the summer to my Mom in Arizona and they came out fine. :p

Just start your order from: www.proflowers.com/reward

You get 15% off. I had to order two arrangements this morning for birthdays and if you get something that's $29.99 after adding a vase and all it turns out to be about $5 off.

Offer is good until 5/31/08

Something about getting flowers in a box and having your girlfriend/wife assemble the arrangement isn't the same as a local florist delivering. My first time, the roses lasted 24 hours. My coworker received a dozen roses this valentine's and they too lasted 24 hrs. Her husband called to complained and ProFlowers did send a 2nd box. Same thing with my manager's flowers on this valetine's day.

I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out.

I send flowers pretty often and have had pretty uniformly bad results with the traditional method so ProFlowers has been an improvement. If I went through what you did I would probably switch back though.

ProFlowers cancelled the flowers I'd ordered for my wife for Valentines Day and did not bother to notify me. I caught it when they hadn't been delivered by 4 on V-Day. I called to find out what happened. While waiting for the CSR to research it, I checked it online and saw that the order was scheduled for delivery on 3/4 and then the guy told me it had been cancelled. I asked to speak with a management type. The manager said that the 10% discount(FatWallet CashBack) was not valid. I asked her why I had not received any notification. She didn't know why and apologized profusely. She offered to send an order, including vase, for free as well as call my wife and explain that I had done MY part and they had screwed up. I accepted her offer.
She had the flowers(assorted roses for my rose society member wife) overnighted. When they arrived, I followed the included directions, set them up and delivered them to my wife. They were absolutely beautiful and still are...in fact, they've bloomed beautifully. The wife could not be happier.
Thumbs up for ProFlowers in righting their mistake.

BTW...My caller ID said it was Lands End calling when they called...vedy interesting!

One time I ordered 12 red roses to be delivered to my wife at her work on Valentine's day. They sent 12 yellow roses. That went well :p

wow ..... i had no idea that they send it in a box and you have to assemble it.. that sounds really stupid to me. I swear that I read somewhere on their site that a florist hand delivers them ...

Actually, they come over night Fed Ex. I sent some to my wife at work this year. I liked the idea of fresh cut flowers. When they say fresh, they mean fresh. Took a day or 2 to bloom. They lasted maybe 5 days. I was happy, but have to admit what I ordered was expensive. Almost $35 in shipping fees, because of Valentines day. It was an extravagance that I probably won't do very often.

For someone who sends alot of flowers, I would recommend them. Just understand upfront that Fedex is delivering in a box.Whomever receives them will have to assemble.

My wife's order was delivered on the 15th and is still beautiful. Still in full bloom....she keeps 'em watered and changed the water once as well as adding the second packet of magic powder(gris-gris dust) per the instructions
She's very happy with 'em.
