I've been doing 3-6 WU per day on my main box... I've never had it up this high before! All that I've changed is upping my overclock and lowering the mult a little. My other machines seem to have lower productions, if anything... I don't quite understand this.

your not the only one, i seem to be getting more WU's in these days to, today i hit 10+
only thing that changed was a switched from a barton 2500+ (oc to 3200+) to a p4 2.6 oc (3.25)

not that im complaining lol

Still using that Barton? I have a Mobile Duron that wants to be retired. ;)

All I did was up from 2.23 ghz to 2.39 ghz. That shouldn't account for this big of a production increase, should it? My FSB is up at 211 now, that's all I can think of...

i dont think that lil increase would make that big of a jump, same with me

as for mr barton, i work in a computer store, traded him in for a nice chunk off my 2.6c proc

i am very curious though as to why im folding through the roof these days, ud think the p4 would be slower for folding, since they are known for folding slower.

i also need to add my 1.8ghz duron that is my fileserver in....

Dang. :p Oh well. I'll use my tax return to buy a new Barton for myself, I guess.

Odd... The Dual PII system is folding like mad too. It's down from 391 mhz to 359 mhz.

If you up your processor speed, you should see a production increase of roughly the same % as your increase in speed. One thing you might not have thought about is that Stanford may be sending out WU's that get completed faster or have higher point totals for the same amount of work - there have been batches of mis-valued WU's before. I don't track my stuff closely (actually, not at all) so I can't tell you if there are new proteins out, so that's just a guess.

That little power outage last night sure stuck a wrench in the anus of my production. ~__~

That is a good point. I'm pretty sure FSB doesn't really have an effect upon F@H speed, but lowering my mult seems to have increased the effeciency of my CPU. Games run better.

It's not just a point increase, it's more of a total WU per day increase...

well, today ive only got one wu in..... so i guess yesterday was just a pretty increase.... i hope not though, it was starting to look really nice for me

I did three last night. And one more has almost finished since I rebooted this machine 2 hours ago.

You've only mentioned number of WU, not the size. Last week I was getting a lot of 50 to 70 pointers, recently I got a batch of 18 pointers that my dually 3GHz Xeons gobbled up like so much candy.
What's your point output ?

I have no clue on exact numbers. I went from 6,000 points to almost 8,000 points in a few days, and usually it takes longer than that to get 2,000 point. :p

If you have fast boxen running 24/7 with Gromacs you should be able to run at around 1.5 points per hour per Ghz.
Or 36 PPDPG, Or 250 PPWPG.
AMD's with Tinkers run at half this speed.
Pentium's with Tinkers run at quarter of this speed.

I've got just under 23Ghz folding and normally average just over 800 points per day.

Luck.......:D
