Prodigy vs Aureon Space vs Audigy2

I already have an Audigy2 which I'm reasonably satisfied with but has had a lot of driver problems recently for no apparent reason so I strongly consider changing to another card.

I mostly listen to music and game very rarely so I don't need the Audigy-line for that, in that area they're unparalleled it seems. Soundquality and clarity is what matters most to me. It's to be used with a Cambridge Soundworks MegaWorks 510D set, great speakers imo.

Via Envy based cards seem to be the best combination of soundquality and decent price, and as far as I can see from reviews the best of them I can get here is AudioTrak Progidy and Terratec Aureon Space.
I cannot find which is the best of them though, the only comparison between them I've found said the Aureon had best soundquality but all other reviews said the Prodigy has better dacs than most other cards. As for drivers both seem decent. So I'm torn between them, the pricedifference isn't very big so that point isn't pf importance.

Any suggestion? Or should I stick with the old A2 a little longer? I should be able to sell it so what I'd shell up for the new card would be 30-40$ so if the quality is there I wouldn't hesitate, just want some oppinions on them first.

Noone has any experience with those cards? If you've tried just one of the two Envy-cards please write you experiences.

Sorry, those cards are much more popular in your area than here in the U.S. I could tell you lots about the M-Audio Revolution if you wanted, but not the other two. I have, however, worked with the Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96.

If no one answers soon, I suggest visiting Head-Fi or Hydrogen Audio. These forums should have some more opinions from the European folks.

I know, whereas the Revo is rare over here. Still, I saw some people here recommend the Prodigy so someone must have tried it I guess.

I have a Terratec Space. No complaints about driver issues or music playback but I find it crackles sometimes when playing wav files. It is a bit annoying right now but once this machine makes its way home to take its place as HTPC (I'm using it as my workstation right now), I will be disabling all the computer sounds anyhow (don't want email messages when watching a movie for example)

I had the same issues with [Space] crackle; I flashed it to the Prodigy 7.1 & the Audiotrak drivers were much better than the Terratec. I'm no longer using it since I got the external Audigy2 NS........a link to info on the flash process> http://www.forgotten-realms.cfl.pl/other/torturecity/

Cool! Didn't even ask a question and got an answer! :p

I was doing a little research earlier and notice that the ZS supports DTS-ES and since this card is in my HTPC, I'm considering replacing it with the ZS and putting it in my truck. Maybe a flash might be a good idea - thanks
