I have a question that will be fairly elementary to some of you but...I have parts laying around to build a rig for mainly gaming only. I have my choice between a P4 Prescott 3.4 and a E6400 am I right in thinking that I will get the best gaming performance out of the E6400? Thanks
 
If I understood your question correctly, yes you will get a much, much better performance out of your E6400 CPU. Don't let the prescott speed of 3.4GHz confuse you, its the old, single core CPU.

E6400 is way faster than the prescott
