processor bit question

Can someone tell me if this processor is a 32 or a 64 bit processor? im thinking 64

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 5000+ 2.60 GHz
 
64 bit......i own this, and know for a fact that it is...........also i believe that AMD hasn't released anything other than a 64 bit CPU for a longer time

That was what the 64 stood for. All Opteron, AMD 64, Phenom chips are all 64 bit. I have had 64 bit chips from amd since 2003/4. And in linux I was and still am using them on a 64 bit operating system.

BTW, I am typing from a 5600+ X2 at the moment. I have 8GB of memory installed and running xp64. This is my current development rig at work. However I am in the process of replacing it.

Thanks. The reason im asking is i wanna get the windows 7 professional 64 bit os, they are selling it for like $65 (+$13 if for the CD). Eventually im going to upgrade some other things.

Pretty sure Windows 7 won't fit on a CD cause of all the bloat.
