Well, I have just upgraded my system.

Current Specs:

p4 2.0ghz
1gb pny 3200 ram( from 256mb)
evga 6800gs (shipping now)

Is my processor gonna really bottleneck me?

I currently have a 5700le ( pos) runs battlefeild 2 at 1024x768 fine, at least possible graphics. Do u think i could run b2 on medium/ high settings ? also will i be able to play world of warcraft on max settings?

Can u upgrade a processor that is from a manufacturor liek gateway, compaq, or dell?

Thanks! :D

this computer is a gateway, is there any way it will work with it, im pretty sure its a socket 478, and also would overlcocking my cpu work ( the bios wont allow me too , is there any tools i could use?)?

Hehe...whatever you do, don't attempt a BIOS flash. I ruined my Gateway's mobo by doing that...ended up getting a new mobo for OCing (in sig). You may want to buy a new CPU...a good P4 @ 2.8 or 3 GHz would do you good for ~$140. Make sure it has Hyper Threading.

kinda strapped for cash right now, baught my 6800gs for 225$

i think ill have around 100$ after i sell some stuff on ebay, maybe i can find a cheap p4 2.8 or 3ghz, maybe

depends on if the Gateway bios allows HT though. remember, you can "turn it off"
