Hello.

I've got an EVGA GeForce 6600 GT, which I'm happy with, but I've run into a couple of problems. I updated my drivers to 81.94 and it has messed up some things. I play videos (on Windows Media, Real Player), but I only hear the audio, no video. And in Photoshop it sometimes says that there is a hardware problem and it cannot be fixed, making it unable to open. I finally got Photoshop opening, and then all of the colors are pink. So when I press CTRL N to make a new image, its automatically pink. These are the only things that have occured so far, but I'll keep you guys updated.

Thanks.

I'm not sure how much of a difference this would make, but you could try using the drivers directly from EVGA. You can get them from there website.

Did you try a driver rollback and it went away? Hopefully its just a flake with that driver version, I had a problem like that with my x800pro where 5.10 just simply wouldnt work, yet 5.9 and 5.11 worked fine.

I got the driver from the EVGA website. When I update my drivers can I install right over the old ones, or do I have to remove the old ones completely? Because.. I remember seeing on these forums emphasis on removing drivers completely (thats what I did).

As for a rollback, how would I do that?

Yes you should remove your old drivers completely, I use drivercleaner. Check the stickies at the top of this forum, I believe its Video Card FAQ. If you had the problem with the EVGA versions try the ones from nVidia, I'm not sure but I think each add in board partner optimizes the drivers for there product, but you'd have to check I'm no expert.

You guys are extremely helpful. I thought I'd let you know that I followed your instructions by using driver cleaner, and installing the new 81.98 drivers, and it fixed the video viewing problem. Thanks alot. :)

maybe i'm not thinking correctly, but i think that there are newer drivers out. try em out :p
