As of late, my sound has quit. I have re-installed drivers and everything, but to no avail. The speakers (Altec Lansing 2100's) are good, because I can plug them into my iPod and they are fine. When they are plugged into the onboard sound though, if I put my ear right up to one of the speakers, I can barely hear whatever is supposed to be playing. It's a Shuttle SB75G2 motherboard, and I thought maybe someone has experienced the same problem, and knows how to fix it. Thanks.

Oh, and getting a sound card is out of the question, because due to the size of the case, it will pick up mad static from the hard drive, processor, video card, etc.

I see that you have re-installed drivers, but have you installed the latest?

Go to your chipset's or mobo's website and download latest drivers. This happened to me too.

good luck

It was just working with these same drivers a week ago :(

Updated drivers - same thing.

I just noticed that the "speaker" sound icon is gone from my system tray, don't know if this would effect anything.

Hmm, if its onboard, try resetting it in the BIOS. If nothing works, its probably dying.
