Hey, a friend of mine has had a ton of problems with his 6600gt's. The first one he got was a PNY, it would freeze in CS: source all the time, unless there was a huge fan blowing into the side of his case. So he returned it and got an XFX. Now his computer won't even boot (screen is blank, harddrive doesn't spin when the card is in). I've read of people saying how there are a ton of XFX "horror stories" out there...does it seem like he just got a defective card? He has a Compaq P4 2.4ghz, and recently got an Antec 350w true blue power supply. Is there any reason why his computer wouldn't be able to handle a 6600gt? Is a 350w Antec good enough? Granted he has a Compaq, but I don't see why it would be giving him so many problems with a video card upgrade.

For people with 6600gt's: what kind of power supplys are you using?

Thanks for the help.

well...that should be enough watts, considering it an antec... i dont have a 6600gt...but im running a 6800gt on a 430watt antec...and i HAD it running a POS 350watt before...so i seriously doubt thats it...
