I recently ordered 1 GB of PC3500 Mushkin Level II to tide me over until was ready to make the jump to either an Intel platform or the Socket 939s. In any event, I install the ram and a new fanbus to quiet down my Tornado. Now, all of a sudden, I'm having problems left and right with my video, and I saw the "Award BootBlock" for the first time ever.
Running Windows XP w/ SP1, and the system in my sig, + the ram.
Right now, I'm trying everything at stock settings, to see what happens. What bothers me most about this is that the RAM is supposed to be better than what I had installed already and now I can't pass memory tests at certain FSBs and obviously, VPU Recover is popping up every freaking time I try to load a game. Any ideas as to what could be causing these problems? It seems that if I try to run at 197 * 11.0x, which I've run at stably for months, it starts freaking out. Any suggestions? Should I RMA the sticks?
Also, I was running at 2-2-2-6 timings, just bumped these to 2.5-3-3-6.. which would totally defeat the purpose of me buying this RAM, in the process of testing stability now.
