I just got this computer a week ago and I still have not gotten it to work the way I want it. For some reason, it does not like the Maxtor 5400 HDD I want to use. The first thing you will notice that the name is not detected right on the post screen and you always get an error that there was a hard disk failure. So is the drive dead? I thought so but it works fine in my PC and I backed up the data and formatted it all just fine. It seems to cause the bus speed to default to 100 even though you set it at 133. So is is just a defective XPC? I wondered that myself but surprisingly, the Bigfoot drive on my shelf works just fine (but it is huge and there is no way I can fit it in there). I think it has a VIA KT266 chipset in it. Are the KT266 known to not like certain hard drives or is this just some weird problem I have run into? I am waiting for another hot deal on a hard drive to come around and I will try that one but I hope I don't run into the same problem if it is a Maxtor drive.
