Problems with RealPlayer

A week or so back Real Player just decided not to work, hadn't installed any new programs or anything like that. I thought the best course of action would be to uninstall and re-install it but when I tried to do that I got an error saying "Uninstall Component Missing" or something to that effect.

I tried download the player again and installing over the top but that did nothing either.

I was wondering if anyone knew either:
 1. 1 - How I get Real Player to work
• 2 - How I uninstall it, no matter what I try I can't get rid of it
• 3 - If I manage to uninstall it, is there another program that will play real media files without all the rubbish that comes with RealPlayer
Thanks in advance,

I suggest you scrap that trash of a program. If you can't uninstall from Add/Remove, try going to the directory it's installed in and using the uninstall file in there. If that doesn't work, delete the directory it's installed to. It's not exactly the best way to uninstall, but it's better than nothing.

I like real alternative, which uses media player classic to play real media files.

However, it tends to have some problems with streaming real files.
