I just purchased two OWC dual mini drives to replace my current two OWC smaller drives. I was using Carbon Copy Cloner last night to copy everything from one of the old drives to one of the new ones, and I got messages that files couldn't be read for the copy, and that it's a bad sector on the drive. Luckily I have backups so I could just copy those unreadable files over to the new drive.
Fast forward to just then - I am trying to copy a folder from the new drive over to a secondary drive, and it just failed, saying a file couldn't be read.
What could be the reasons for this? These drives are bus-powered, but there's only one drive per firewire port on my desktop.
Could "unreadable" data have been copied to the new drive?? I'm having a hard time believe my old drives coincidentally corrupted the day I get new drives to clone to..
