Alright, so my old pc (about.. 5 years old now?) Is having some problems, I can't figure out exactly what but i have a few ideas...
Basicly, what it does, in certain games(notably;Company of heroes, Dungeon's and dragon's online,Games that don't mess it up;Dawn of War
ark crusade demo, so far atleast(don't use it that often only when im not at home))If i don't get off of the main menu and actually start the game, my monitor goes black, and It seems to just freeze (sound freezes up, repeats over and over, though sometimes It plays a little bit then freezes again), Only way out of it is to reset-switch it.
The awfully odd part is that in like, Company Of Heroes(demo) it Won't freeze once i'm in game... I've played for like, 3 hours befor with no problems, But If I tarry too long befor actually starting up a skirmish game, It freezes. Most of the time within 25-50 seconds.
Anywho, this whats in the belly of the beast;
Mobo:MSI-6712
GPU:XFX6600GT
Processor:AMD Athlon XP 1500+
Ram:Generic DDR 512x2
PSU:Not exactly sure on manufacturer(Would tear it open for a looksee but i'm at work, and it's not), But i think it's a generic 400-450 watt PSU, never had any problems with it befor.
So, anyone got any Ideas? I'm thinking it might be my psu, but it doesnt really explain the strange behavior it has with games.
