Hello, im having major problems with the new ati drivers. It installs it pretty good, but when you restart to view the test of some sort, it just completely screws up and, will ocassionally start.

sometimes i get a blue screen saying a error with a device, and it lists like atidrag2.exe or somthingof that sort

And often when i restart nothing will come up, i will have to wait for a while so it can start up?????

what can i do that will help this??? currently i have no card drivers installed. like the conrol panel and stuff, but i want to be able to play half life again!!

wait, i'm confused. You do have ATI drivers installed now or not? If you do, uninstall them and go back to the last one that worked.

I installed a 9200 on a friend's computer recently and it went flawless, try Driver Cleaner and latest Cats 4.12 and everything should be OK.

I called ati and they said that i needed to make sure that the agp drivers were updated, so i did that, updated the via 4in1 drivers, and then uninstalled the ati driver, and reinstalled the new one, and its still messing up on me???

IM going to try this driver cleaner, thing, because the dude said that the drivers are still probably in my registry, thanks ill keep u up to date, any more ideas?

Forgot to add, make sure you using a recent bios version for your motherboard just to discard compatability issues

ya i want to flash the bios, but im scared to, i mean half the time it just stops displaying video in the bootup?? thatswhat im scared of? i dont want my motherboard to be unusable

I think chances of sudden shutdown during a BIOS flash are not too high. Also, if you have an ASUS motherboard (Crashfree BIOS 2, not sure what other motherboards have it) or dual-bios, you don't have much to worry about.

Ok, well the video seems to be working pretty well, thank to the driver clean product above!!!!

so far its working and im not getting any errors or lockups, its been 1 day. ill keep you up to date, also i think im going to flash the bios after a few more bootups to make sure
i mean the way it was acting i was definetly not going to do one!!!! haha

thanks-seXy

i sucessfully flashed the bios, and i used the driver cleaner, and still i got a blue screen saying that its in infinite loop after like 1 hour of using it.

the ati control panel cant come up because of the driver, and this is what the blue screen says,

atidviag2.exe is the problem?

do you think that my card is screwed up and i should get it serviced or what?? i really cant afford to get another one, because this one did a excellent job for what i needed.

Which Control interface are you using? The old control panel or the new ati control center? If its the control centre have you installed .NET1.1
