i bought 2gb of patriot ram over winter break and now i keep getting blue screens that say "page fault in non paged area". i hear this is a memory issue and im not qute sure what to do.

is the ram dead? any way to check for faulty ram? this is so annoying.

the problem that you are having is usually a RAM problem, but can also be caused by compatability issues.... if the RAM is on the compatability list for your MOBO then it is probably bad RAM and needs to be replaced.

you can run a memory test like memtest86 or docmem which will probably show an error either way.

Yes, best thing is to test with memtest86 and make sure the ram work fine or not. The cause is not just memory, but also motherboard/memory combo issues, overclocking issues, wrong timings, etc...

Start by listing what you have, are you overclocking or not, what timings are you running at, etc...
