We have been removing local admin on computers lately here at work to prevent people from download SP2, but we have ran into a problem. On some computers, if we remove them from local admin, our GP don't seem to work, desktop, theme, programs not running. Anyone know how to fix this? We are thinking that if we delete the ntuser.dat it will fix the problem, but we don't want to do that becuase they will lose all their settings.
Another thing is we were thinking that maybe its being blocked by the registry, that if we remove them from local admin, the GP can't write to it.
We looked into Security Configuration and Anylsis, which seems to allow us to change policys and registry options. The only thing i can't figure out is how to save those settings and them down to computers, changing there registry and local policy to what we need it to be, any ideas?
