I have a Silversone FP33 fan speed controller, and 3 Silverstone FM121 fans. I first used the controller that fit in the rear expansion slot, but after a week or so one of the fans stopped being controlled by the controller. It just ran at high or somewhat high all the time. For anyone with a Silverstone FM121 they know this is kind of loud. Silverstone is good enoughto also ship a front bay mounted controller witt the FP33, so I rewired everything to use this one. Now, after another week or so, one of the fans is doing the same exact thing as before. I am pretty positive it is the same fan as well.
If you look at the pictures on newegg it shipped with a little plate of some kind, but I am pretty sure that is just for a 3 wire fan or something. Anyway, I didn't use whatever it was, I hope I wasn't supposed to. It came with no directions, so I just plugged tjhe fans in.
So, what is my problem? Two bad fan controllers? That seems like too much of a coincidence. Is there something with that fan causing the controller to go out? Any help would be much appreciated. I don't mind buying a new fan or a different speed controller, I just don't want to have to keep rewiring my case when these go bad.
