Problems with Corsair HX620

I bought a Corsair HX620 about 18 months ago as a replacement for my Antec 430 which I didn't think would power my new 8800 GTS. When I got the power supply and installed it, it didn't work. Not wanting to screw around with it, I tried out the Antec and it worked fine with the 8800, and the matter slipped my mind.

So, just got a 4870 and figured I would have to upgrade. Pulled the HX620 out of storage and it's doing the same thing it did last time. About half the time, pressing the power button on the case does nothing. The other half of the time, the led's come on and flicker, the vid card fan and case fan spin up for a few seconds and then shut off. There is no POST.

I have two PCI Express cables plugged in, two SATA power cables plugged in, and one molex. I've triple checked the CPU and main power cables and have even reseated them. All cables appear to be attached fine.

Is this just a bad power supply, or is there anything I might try before going the RMA route?

Thanks!

[edit] Forgot to mention one thing. There are a couple non-modular cables for this power supply. One for the CPU, another for the motherboard, and one that I assume is a PCI express 8 pin connection. However, I'm unable to attach this to my video card, it just doesn't fit. I've looked at the pins carefully and some of them are just shaped wrong. Am I right that this is a PCI Express connector and maybe the power supply is crapping out because it isn't connected, or is this maybe an AMD cpu power cable?

If it isn't working, then it's probably DOA. You could try the paperclip trick to see if it'll turn on, and if that doesn't work, RMA the sucker.

As you had problems 18-months ago and Corsair offering GREAT service, I recommend contacting Corsair.

The 8-pin connector is the EPS12V connector, also for the CPU. So that won't go in your graphics card, no.

Corsair has great RMA service once they receive your item. Getting the initial approvals to send it back may take several days though.
