Problems with corruption using Abit KD7A mainboard

Hello and thanks for your time

I recently purchased;

1. Abit KD7A mainboard
2. AMD XP 2500+ CPU
3. Western Digital 80gb 8mb cache HD
4. 350 watt power supply
5. RADEON 9200

One of these products is causing every single file I download to become corrupted. I had none of these corruption problems prior to upgrading and if i go on my other computer downstairs that is hooked up to the same internet connection it has no problems like what I am experiencing on this computer. The HD was brand new and so was the CPU but I believe the motherboard might have been returned or refurbished. I just did a clean fresh install of windows XP and have already started experiencing these problems, I am stumped. This really becomes an issue after like a week cause by then my operating system will be so unstable i will need to reinstall windows again... I have had the problem with Windows XP pro, home, and windows 2000 on this computer...

Anyone have any suggestions as to what is going on?

just as a test try forcing your network connection to 10BT

its in network connections > your network connection > properties > configure > advanced > media type.

if it works fine at that speed then it is probably your network cable.

it could be that your cable was ok with your last network card but the new (on-board?) one is more sensitive to a dodgy cable.

yeah its an on board card and when i switched to 10BaseT Full Duplex a rather large file downloaded perfectly fine, i will keep testing this for a while but I wanted to know if it is okay to keep it on that setting or will it mess some things up?

BTW im running winxp pro

if you have another computer networked to it then transfers will be slower between them, but if it is only connected to the internet then it will be fine unlress you have a connection faster than 10MB (not very likely)

thanks seems to be working ok so far except msn messenger wont sign in tho but other than that its cool
