Problems With ATI RX600: Garbled Screen

Help.

I have a system with an ATi RX600 in it. Don't shoot me, but it's a Dell system.

Worked fine for a handful of months, but now the screen gets "garbled" within a few minutes of turning on. What happens is that the screen will "rip" horizontally, meaning that it almost looks like each line is misaligning itself with the other. Then, I get a VPU recover message and, eventually, one of those restores never works and my system hangs on the video. Seems to happen most with Word and Visio. I can run some other programs (IE, coding IDEs) just fine all day and not trigger this problem.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? If so, did you resolve it? I haven't rolled back drivers to see if it is the cause. I do update every once in a while. Also, in investigating, I noticed the IRQ is shared with the onboard NIC. Don't know if that's an issue. However, since this is a dumbed down Dell system, I can't change IRQ assignments in BIOS.

Any help/suggestions is much appreciated. Thanks.
 
Which Dell system is this?

If possible, I would disable the onboard NIC in BIOS, and throw in a 10/100 NIC, and see if that rectifies the problem.

Failing that, roll back the drivers.

Failing that, backup data, then restore.

Failing that, probably hardware trying to die. :)
