I got a hi-def vga connector for my 360, and my monitor wont scale well to 1280X720. I can select it in Windows and its runs in a 16:9 aspect ratio, but when I select it for the 360 the image gets stretched out to fill the entire screen. Any ideas?

You should be able to select other resolutions with the VGA adapater, I don't think you have to run it in widescreen.

Even in my monitors native res. 1280X 1024 everything looks whacked. Anyone else having problems?

does your monitor support widescreen? I dont think the 360 can do 1280x1024 since it is 4:3 HD basically sorta.. you know what i mean, I just doubt (not positive) the 360 doesnt support that resolution

you might want to check if their is settings telling it to try and display in widescreen, 4:3, or letterbox. I don't have a console to try so I can't really do much else to help.

The 360 has 1280X1024 as an option for me to select, everything just looks weird, kinda stretched. Imma mess around with it somemore and see what I can do.

There's 2 options in the menu---one for resolution, one for screen type. Screen type has 2 options-4:3 or 16:9. 1280x1024 is NOT a 16:9 resolution, therefore if it's set to widescreen it'll look funky. Also, it's a fact that 1280x1024 is NOT even a "normal" resolution in itself...it's not a true 4:3.
