problems with 10k drive

hi,

i recently ugraded to a 10k RPM drive and ever since then ive been having real trouble booting (very very slow) same goes for shutting down. does it need special settings to operate how its supposed to do?

Little more info might help.

I'm going to assume you mean a raptor as opposed to a scsi 10k rpm drive. Having said that, have you installed new controller drivers?
