problems w/ directx and fifa 2005

[warth0g]

hi, i have recently purchased fifa 2005 and so i install it. the game does work and the video is perfect. however, the sound does not work properly(none of the games' music works and the commentary doesn't work. however, some of the in-game crowd music works.) i updated my sound drivers but my directx can not be updated. I have directx 8.1 and the game wants directx 9.0b/or c for that matter i suppose. I tried to install it but it failed to install. if you have any idea what i should do about this, let me know
my computer specs are

amd xp1800 processor
nvidia geforce4 ti4600
onboard sound
asus a7s333 motherboard

rofl, you dont need dx9c with the video card that you have. What are you? some sort of a juice head?

sorry i'm not as cool as you. i tried updating the sound drivers...i think the direct x i have might be corrupted..anyone have any actual advice instead of just annoying banter...it would be appreciated.
